Unfortunately, the falls are not animated at all, which is surprising as they are only a few hundred yards from the new Kaieteur International Airport (PKSA) airport included in WU19:
I was surprised that it can be quite a walk from the terminal to ones aircraft. If your commuter plane is parked at 6C, you will be very wet when you arrive there if its raining - and it rains a lot in the Amazon!
Today we continued our little sojourn through New Zealand, heading from Franz Josef Glacier to Christchurch in the Comanche. It took us a few minutes to get to altitude in order to traverse the mountains, including Mount Cook/Aoraki. Once over though, the autopilot was engaged for about 50 NM while we enjoyed the beautiful New Zealand late summer day. After heading straight for Canterbury Bight we turned towards Christchurch and then brought the old bird down by hand in the city widely known as being “More English than England.”
A fun flight as I continued to learn about the Comanche!
I recently built my newest flight sim and gaming rig (replacing my 5 year old 2080 ti rig) and got MSFS 2024 up and running with some of the essentials. Now able to fly.
Ran into some weird bugs but after some troubleshooting was able to do a few flights. KRNT (Renton WA) to KORS (Orcas Islands, WA) one of my favorite short trips so took the DA 42 for a spin. Good times and great to be back into flight simming with the new rig and latest MSFS sim offering.
Like many others, I also went down to Brazil today, flying the Cessna Corvallis from Sao Paolo to Rio de Janeiro. The day was cloudy, but there were certainly many simmers taking to the skies, and it was neat seeing the sea traffic as well. Overall, the area looks amazing.
Flew around Mount Kenya National Park. I wish Microsoft would soon do something about the details in Africa too! These photos have been taken with oblique angles to masquerade imperfections of the terrain.
Speed run Ft. Lauderdale to San Juan PR - 2:38 minutes (whew) - averaging around 350T at FL310 in the Vertigo. I cut the fuel planning a little close - landed with about 17 gals. left, Fuel Lights came on just as I was entering the hold for ILS10. Cancelled IFR and just went for it.
Beautiful ride down though. Bahamas and the Caribbean never disappoints.
