Ran my cargo routes in the Azores today. Circling for the approach to Santa Maria Island (LPAZ).
Early morning leg 4 from Birsbane to Hamilton Island YCAB
YBHM
Unfortunately I started to descend a bit late. I had to do 2 360 to loose altitude and then I got a bit disoriented and mistaken the big island (Whitsunday Island) for (Hamilton Island). As I was trying to navigate I forgot to take pictures of the destination.
But the landing was very smooth. Really easy to land DC-3 with 12kn headwind. It keeps it straight after touchdown without lot of corrections.
Flew the PMDG 737 700 From Cassidy International Airport to Pago Pago International Airport using a delta scheme because I didn’t download a Air New Zealand scheme yet for the 737
The Mohaka Viaduct is a railway viaduct spanning the Mohaka River in northern Hawke’s Bay, on the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand, near the small settlement of Raupunga. It was built between 1930 and 1937 by the Public Works Department (PWD) for the New Zealand Railways Department (NZR). It is 276.8 metres (908 ft) in length, and at 95 metres (312 ft), is the tallest viaduct in Australasia.

Made some baby steps with the A310
First I flew a SID and STAR at Budapest (LHBP)
Even made an acceptable landing, then stopped for a photo while turning to taxi
Encouraged by the above I decided to fly a short route: Budapest (LHBP) to Wien (LOWW)
All went fine until it decided that it does not want to land, so I had to make the ILS capture by hand. Then somehow it decided that I really shouldn’t want to land and turned AT back on, so I had to wrestle a bit for controls. Managed to put the plane down and stop at the end of the runway, but no idea what went wrong.
keep doing my africa tour in King air, after egypt, and arabia saoudi, reached back the ethiopan coast
HondaJet?
Does it have a kick-starter? ![]()
I can’t speak for St. Barts, but at St. Martin/St. Maartin’s Princess Juliana airport, I saw several jumbo’s, including 747’s, land and take off from there. (IRL)
The challenging part, (IRL) is the mountains at the eastern end of the runway are sufficiently close that you have to bank like a fighter to avoid them and the proximity of the western end of the runway to the ocean/Caribbean sea. It is so tight that aircraft landing have to come in very shallow, (to have enough braking distance), and aircraft taking off have to back almost until their main gear are up against the fence, (so they have enough runway to take off). Because of this people on the beach right there get blown into the water or duck when something big comes in.
(There are lots of YouTube videos about this.)
I agree with your experience. I have seen several pilots trying to land and eventually crash airliners or figther jets on very small airstrips.
Hello folks!
In the previous post I landed in North Korea, now I have landed in the city of Vientiane which is the capital of the small country of Laos located on the Indochinese Peninsula.
One hundred flights behind me
I think there’s still another one ahead of me.
I have already flown 39566 nautical miles (73278 kilometres), time spent in the air is over 115 hours! (counting real time in game - of course I fly sometimes using simrate, but I don’t record that).
It’s time to slowly head back towards Africa, lots of short flights await me there ![]()
Thank you for your attention
See you folks in a few days from Africa
Greetings
Considering that the engine starter of the A310 has a “crank” setting and that the HJet’s engine is a lot smaller I wouldn’t really be surprised if you could kickstart it. But it’s a very nice plane, starts like a charm, no brute force needed ![]()
l took the C208 above alaska,
and flew a bit with the jpl152 on germany,
and been chilling around city in asia
NZ, day 3. Overall very happy with WU 12 ![]()
First North Island, taking off from Waiouru (NZRU) flying over the Tongariro National Park:
Then down south, taking off from Milford Sound (NZMF):
Next: Mount Cook/Aoraki from NZMC:
Finally, back to the North Island: Wellington (NZWN):
Didn’t fly today, been checking out the Goliath from cold and dark and just a general look around.
Nice detail showing the cables for the elevator and rudder.
Engine detail is nice:

This little prop on the top is a wind turbine generating electricity for in flight:
And finally, this is the air speed indicator, the wind forcing the paddle backwards to move the needle…can’t get over that one!
Personally, I think it is very well crafted aircraft, quite impressed. Flying from Paris to London in it soon.
Minimum take off speed is at 32 knots, just out of the red. Simplicity of it is great.
Lost control landing at Meigs Field… I’m not sure about the graphics regressions on this new beta tho ![]()
