Leg 27 of my world flight. Today, Kolhapur (VAKP) to Bangalore (VOBG). In hindsight, it was not a good idea to fly over India during the monsoon season, unless you like looking at lots & lots of clouds!
Departing Kolhapur. I was planning to vary the aircraft I use during my world flight, but have been staying with the albatross for a while now:
Sandwiched at 16,000 ft between two cloud layers. The upper layer is visually not too good (Volumetric Clouds = Ultra):
I took this screenshot, peeking through the clouds, to show the terrain 16,000-odd feet below. I’m not seeing any blurriness in my flights:
Overflying Bangalore:
By the time I’ve lined up for a landing on rwy 27, the airport was enveloped in fog. The red PAPI lights are not very bright:
The whites are better:
Roll-out. No stutters or blurry runway:
Hmm - where do I go from here?
