Continued our trip along Highway 50 in the King Air C90. Using GPS, we roughly followed the Missouri River, although you couldn’t see much due to it being around midnight. It had been a while since I flew this bird and so in a test flight yesterday, I overstressed her engines. Tonight, however, I remembered to keep it under control and we did quite well on this beautiful early morning flight.
First night flight in the C90 and I’m loving the bluish-teal cockpit lighting.

Had a bit of time before darkness to get from Cagliari (LIEE) on a short trip to the island of Corsica to Figari-South Corsica Airport (LFKF). Nice landing in between the hills. A little bit bumpy as I crossed between Sardinia to Corsica.

Figari-South Corsica Airport (LFKF) to Genova City Airport (LIMJ) done. Back in Italy after a very short stop on the French island of Corsica. Wanted to get that step across the Ligurian Sea out of the way and Genova looked pretty nice at night.
Next stop will be to Milano Malpensa Airport before what I expect will be a really nice flight over to Zurich Airport, before going back down into Italy down South before heading to Greece. After Greece it’ll be a trip to Albania and then Turkey but it’ll be a way off yet, a few Greek islands to get through!

Started at the Aswan Dam and went up the Nile a ways.

Up the Nile at 700ft and the trees and bridges are not too bad.
I had no idea it was this built up near Aswan!

2020, Finished the MI1 flight actually crossing the Channel, unlike the film, and ending in Calais. Wonder if it looks any better in 2024. Controller adjustments, and just getting back into the helo mindset, have got me back in the right seat.

Continuing my tour in the Grumman Albatross (I skipped posting yesterday’s leg from Key West to Havana, by way of Fort Jefferson and Dry Tortugas), today we left Havana, headed west across Cuba before an open water segment to Cozumel where we made the best landing I have ever made in my life, lol.
