(Fs2020) flew (EHAM) Amsterdam to (KBUF) Buffalo Niagara in the dark star
Flew Buffalo (KBUF) to Charlotte (KCLT) in the fs studios erj 170 LR
I can’t recall ever seeing pictures or video of anyone flying round the Chinese island of Hainan, so I thought I’d give it a go.
As is my wont, I used live weather:
Visibility could have been better:
It did improve a bit as I flew from south-west to north-east. When I arrived at the north-east coast I could actually see the mainland, some twelve miles across a strait - if you look hard enough you might see it too, it’s that line between the sea and the sky:
The default airports are if anything even grimmer than usual, but there is a little freeware on Flightsim.to so I might pick something up for my next attempt. At least I found somewhere to park easily enough, which is a bit of a novelty in 2024:
I flew around Egypt today. Took a tour over the pyramids, headed to the Gulf of Suez, over the City of Suez, then up the Suez Canal to Port Said, back over Cairo and then landed. All in the TBM 930. Left and departed from Almaza Bay just outside of Cairo.
The plane was in a constant climb, and you exceeded the critical altitude for that plane. You can see the trim continue to go up until the plane stalled. You never reached your cruise altitude, whatever that was.
Would be nice if you mentioned the time stamp. It was 5:56:16.
You stalled the aircraft. Was this on AP climbing with VS and you were away from the controls?
Call Pilot Debrief or Blanoclirio.
@hobanagerik - The plane was in Autopilot and it just decided to climb out of no where then the screen glitched and I was on my roof.
@Adawg20057972 - The autopilot did what was done, I wasn’t even near the controls during most of the flight.
But were you monitoring everything or were you away from the controls?
You have to keep a close eye on things when climbing VS in a single engine piston plane. But it sounds like an AP disconnect, maybe from turbulence.
Fifth leg of my round the world trip, this time in the Curtiss Jenny. It SHOULD have been the fourth leg, but the actual fourth flight was aborted to an early landing at Stefanik in Bratislava due to foolishly attempting VFR just as terrible fog and cloud rolled in. So here I am at Lipot, just over the border in Hungary, camping out for the night near the runway with my faithful dog.
nope, I went out for the day
KSEA–KLAX–KSEA
Didn’t know how much I missed the PMDG 737… but I certainly am rusty. Neither landing was under -300 FPM. Gotta fly the thing more often
Tried out Delta Simulations C-17 Globemaster (Freeware), I’m very impressed with it and will certainly be flying this often. I would pay money for this!
MSFS2020
It’s been a minute, so the first thing we did today was search for the new “What did you do…” thread! Then we posted the first part of our next tour over at Pee-Wee and Nag’s Skytours (and Other Thoughts). Tune in for the next two installments soon.
Such a magical place.
Such a sad place.
Boats, and busses, and bombers…oh my!
Zounds! What mounds!
The Final Frontier.
