Hi there, I’m in the process of upgrading my backup system and was wondering which would be faster External SSD or External HDD 7200rpm? I am looking for an 1-2TB…Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA
SSDs are faster.
I have a 2 TB external SSD. It’s more expensive, but the speed and reliability is worth the price.
Although, I keep my most important indispensable files on my OneDrive Cloud storage. That way, I don’t need to worry if I lost my drive or if it stops working.
No backup drive, with a 200Mb internet connection.
Internal HDD at 1TB, external 4TB Drive and an 8TB Drive, and a 1TB SSD Drive. All my sim stuff sans the game is backed up to those. I rotate those backups weekly, but the 8TB is connected to the HUB so it gets updated more often. The 1TB internal drive is the place I keep all the extra SIM stuff, and I offload the game as backup files to the 4TB and as stated the 1TB SSD. I backed up the complete game folder to the 1TB SSD in case of crash.
It took 4 hours for all 8 DVDs in XPlane 11 to install. The 4TB also is about once a week or every 10 days. I had calendar reminder to do it but changed e-mail clients and that has been lost. Need to redo calendar entries in new mail client.
