What happened to Sedona (Red rock)

Used to be beautiful orange/red rock (as in real life). Lately it’s always been some sort of off white?

3 days ago it was not

Its a compare P3D, but as you can see

Just bumping this one. After updating to latest patch 7 with US update I tried some of training flights out of Sedona. I was disheartened to see that scenery has changed from “red rock” to some sort of “off white rock” as reported by the OP here. After a lot of on-line searching this is about only thread I can find reporting a similar observation. Anyone else seeing this issue with texture colors in and around Sedona? I can’t say for sure if this happened in conjunction with patch 7 or a previous patch as I haven’t flown at Sedona for last few weeks until now. Also, maybe I’m losing it but KPHX (Phoenix International) now has green taxiway lights all over the runways!

Found the solution to this problem. In General settings, Data, Bing data world graphics must be on and photogrammetry must be on. At some point an update must have turned these options off. In any case correct Sedona colors are back. Coming to think of it the sim has never looked so good as now making me wonder if I’ve ever had these features turned on!

That was 100% correct. Solved my problem immediately. Not sure if they did that as a “performance fix” for people with slower machines. I have a high-end machine and have no problems at all with these settings turned on.

What drew me to try this is I ended up reading a number of threads with people complaining about scenery texture quality/rendering, likening it to being FSX quality at best. Repeatedly someone would say “turn on Bing data and photogrammetry” and problem solved. I only play FS 2020 once or twice a week but I resolved to test this next time I played it. Lo and behold Sedona colors were correct and in fact everything looked better, much higher level of detail. Have since then checked out some other regions in AZ, Tucson, Phoenix, etc and it is ■■■■ well near photo realistic now. Amazing. I get feeling I have never had Bing data and photogrammetry on or at-least for quite some weeks and just not been aware of it.
