The Connie project was always freeware. Manfred created the L-1649A initially as a single person effort.
The team actually formed later to help with the development of the L-1649A and then the entire series from L-049 with many different people contributing at different stages.
It was a great pleasure to be part of it. And I still fire up FS9 on occasion just to fly a few circuits in the old gal.
With all the special coding that was required to get the aircraft to be as real as it gets (or as possible in the framework of a sim) I doubt it would be possible to repeat in MSFS.
At present stage ASOBO can’t get fuel mixture to work correctly on a simple 6 cylinder Lycoming or Continental … forget modelling a 2 speed supercharger, PRT equipped R-3350 fueled from a 7-Tank fuel system.
But … who knows.
