What is the most popular plane in the sim?

Not in any particular order of preference

TBM 930
Cessna 152
Diamond DA62 mod
Cessna 208 Caravan
Bonanza G36 mod
Cessna 172 Steam and Glass

Cessna 182T
Cessna 172
Cessna Longitude
TBM 930
Cirrus
King 350

DA62 with the Mod …by a long shot.
After that a little bit of each of the Premium Deluxe GA aircraft.
And almost no time at all in any of the airliners. I tried them all. But since they are not really my cup of tea unless they feature real round engines with 18 cylinders  ,that was just to check if they basically work.

YES!!! The one thing I miss most about FS9 is Manfred Jann’s Constellation series. Those were things of beauty, especially with a proper sound package.

The DA62 stock is a nice plane, but has many annoyances that made me not want to fly it. The DA62X mod takes care of those annoyances. Spent most of my time in the DA62X yesterday evening. I had rather missed that plane. It’s not likely to become my main plane, but I’ll definitely be taking it out more often now.

The 172 was born in 1955. An example from ā€œthe 70’sā€ isn’t old. If you are actually going to fly it, you need to apologize to it and respect it. Don’t want it holding any grudges.
:frowning:

ā€œOldā€ isn’t an insult. It’s just what it is. That plane is younger than I am though. lol

C172 Steam Gauges
G36 Bonanza
TBM
CJ4 (Working Title MOD)

and I have just started to have a ball learning some STOL in the X Cub thanks to the Guy’s from Bush League Legends :slightly_smiling_face:

Was never comfortable calling anything born after me, ā€œoldā€. And even less comfortable disrespecting any aircraft that is going to carry my butt off solid ground.

I think the only group more superstitious than pilots are sailors, maybe hockey players.

I love the TBM930, Currently flying around the world real time, headed west to Alaska --> Russia --> Japan from the center of North America (Winnipeg, MB <-- Homebase) and currently am in Brunei !

Great airplane for long IFR low altitude airway flying, our nice high and fast flying… whichever you prefer!

By the time I land back in Winnipeg I should be able to fly the Aerosoft CRJ!

Of course the A320 Neo! :joy:

well, the extra 330 of course!

I was part of the team that developed the Connie Series for FS9 / FSX. An incredible amount of work went into making the entire series work like they did. From original Lockheed flight and maintenace manuals to me actually flying with a few nice gentlemen that flew Connies in my Saratoga to get a feel for what she behaved like in the air in terms of control forces and pitch and roll motions  since we did not have a real Connie to play with.

I highly doubt what was created for the old sim versions can be repeated for MSFS…but who knows.

Why? You busy with something else?
Really, how busy could you be?

2,000,000 users and you would only need 10% of them at $25 each to make it worth the effort.

The Connie project was always freeware. Manfred created the L-1649A initially as a single person effort.
The team actually formed later to help with the development of the L-1649A and then the entire series from L-049 with many different people contributing at different stages.

It was a great pleasure to be part of it. And I still fire up FS9 on occasion just to fly a few circuits in the old gal.

With all the special coding that was required to get the aircraft to be as real as it gets (or as possible in the framework of a sim) I doubt it would be possible to repeat in MSFS.
At present stage ASOBO can’t get fuel mixture to work correctly on a simple 6 cylinder Lycoming or Continental … forget modelling a 2 speed supercharger, PRT equipped R-3350 fueled from a 7-Tank fuel system.

But … who knows.

My two favorites are the Boeing 787 and the Cessna Longitude Citation.

I watched that doc too. From WAJJ to WAJO
They hit the side of the mountain coming out of a cloud.
It got me trying the Caravan in msfs and then I flew the Baron in X-plane VR and recreated similar conditions and flight plan.

Looking forward to that when VR comes.
