You are correct. I do tend to direct users to the search function a lot. Has far more value than most realize. No one post response could provide any where near the volume and quality of information to help solve a problem. Far to often I see the same questions come up. Followed by a stream of responses that wind up in the same unrelated discussions. Most users could spend an hour using the search function, find the solution and get back to flying. Instead I see those users a week later, still struggling through.
I don’t consider this to be an enforcement as much as good advice.
