So after having some issues installing the latest sim update, I finally managed to get it installed and get back into the sim. Obviously, I deleted the previous version of the FBW A320 experimental build and just installed the latest version from the installed today.
I noticed the engine sounds and cabin sounds were different than before as well as the altitude fallouts. However, the fallouts sound bad compared to before. They sound poor quality and grainy.
Aside from that though, two other things I noticed that didn’t seem right:
-
My approach didn’t show up on my PFD NAV display. Basically my route ended with the last waypoint before my selected approach. I selected an approach in the flight planner menu like always but it wasn’t there when I was starting my final Approach into PHLI (Lihue). If it helps, I had selected the RNAV-35 approach.
-
My approach/landing speed with full flaps and landing gear extended was very low, like just above 100 knots and the red tape. I was having to pitch up nearly 10 degrees to stop losing altitude, but this nearly made me enter a low altitude stall. Seems like something with the drag physics is off. Before; I was around 120-130 knots on approach with full flaps and landing gear which seemed much more normal.
The experimental branch gets updated – but I would be using DEV if I were you. I believe I read on their discord that DEV will be the main focus for now, which has the latest/best.
Also, that said, you’ll find more support if you go to FBW’s Discord vs here in MSFS forums.

Okay, you might be missing the recent news about this.
- The previous experimental version, the one with custom auto-pilot and the custom fly-by-wire controls, are now merged into the Development version. So if you install the latest development version now, you should be getting the same features that was in the experimental version before plus a lot of new features and some fixes and some optimisation and stability changes in there.
- The current experimental version are now used for experimenting the LNAV/VNAV function of the autopilot. I believe it’s still at a very early stage and it’s used by the devs to deploy and test very experimental features, so it’s expected that you would get things like low quality engine sounds, or a lot more buggy issues. So unless you want to join them testing this, I suggest to avoid the experimental version right now.

Ah, yeah I totally missed that news.
So basically what you’re saying is that now I need to be using the DEV version of the mod instead of the experimental version? I know the experimental version had the custom version and throttle settings and all that, so does the dev. version now include all of those features?
Just so much to keep up with and going back and forth from one version to another… but I guess back to the dev. version I’ll go.
Yes, the current dev version has all that feature that was previously in the experimental version.
The throttle calibration is changed slightly though, it’s a lot more simpler now, but it still works the same. But you may need to recalibrate the throttle again using the new method in the EFB.

Okay, that’s all I needed to know! Back to the dev. version I go…
Thanks for all your help always!
