What to do if assigned a runway without ifr?

Apologies for the noobie question but if in your flight plan you let the atc assign a runway or if the atc changes the runway from your plan and the runway isn’t ifr, how do you land?

Is it visual landing or can you still use the flight computer to assist landing like in a ifr landing?

Hi, I think you will have to do a visual landing, if the new runway doesn’t have ILS. Only ILS runways are good for an “assisted” landing, in IFR conditions.

Probably not what you want to hear, but I land on my runway of choice anyways. Virtual ATC has no authority over me.

You can change runways and approaches in the fmc of the aircraft. For ils frequencies you have to look it up in google. Somehow asobo thought “we give you a in game menu with some options you never use” but they never thought that inplementing actual usefull features like a ifr map where you can find the frequencies for runways and vor’s was a good idea somehow…

Same as not having a replay function on release😑

But just google your dest airport icao and add ils frequencies. Like “ksfo ils frequencies” and there’s alot of websites providing those infos.

You can request a different runway through the ATC, did it a couple times.

The Garmin 1000 in the game is capable of giving you the ILS frequencies of runways.

Really? That’s nice have to look for it then. But what about the airliners?

Who cares about airliners? GA aircraft are where it’s at in this game.

Lol that’s kinda true… But still, want to fly them at times.

However, i still think the classic menu bar at the top was 100 times better as it is now. It was so nice to just look up everything you need from te map. Change the aircraft. Change location. Etc etc.

Yes, I agree. I wish the in-game map in the game still showed things like ILS feathers and let you look up frequencies. I do find it a little more immersive looking them up via the Garmin, but I wish I had the option at least of looking at the map ESPECIALLY FOR VOR AND ADF FREQUENCIES WHEN I’M IN THE 152. As it is, I have a legal pad next to my joystick that I write down all my frequencies and headings before even starting a flight.

I will say that the Garmin is pretty ■■■■ amazing in this game once you get the hang of it and learn what it can do.

There’s a reason why they assign a particular runway.

And there’s a reason why I don’t listen to them when they do it. I have a real problem with authority and there is also no collision between planes in this game, so I am free to be a rebel. And it’s not like the wind actually works in this game for crosswind to be a factor, lmao.
