All versions I played since FS98 had a nice exterior camera rotating evenly around the plane, that allowed you to view the plane from the same equal distance around the plane, also when taxiing using exterior view.
And then MSFS 2020 introduced, and the camera is rotating around some strange pivot point that is not around the center of the plane. That cause a mess requires to constantly zoom in and out or pitch it in another direction the get the plane in equal caption, what this issue is still exist and why Asobo never fixed it ?
Yeah, this bothers the heck out of me. I don’t think Asobo has ‘fixed’ it because I think they intended for it to be this way. But the aircraft sits so low on the screen most of the time. A lot of times I zoom in so my aircraft is larger, but then the aircraft constantly sinks below the edge of the screen. I’d love for them to center it better, but we really need some custom exterior camera options in general.
Mine only does this when my head tracker is active and my view is not directly toward the aircraft. As long as I center the aircraft and hotkey the head tracker off, the external camera pivots nicely around the aircraft.
If you’re using a head tracker, that might be the problem, if not, maybe it’s something to do with a manual eyepoint offset that’s been introduced?
