What's the longest you HAVEN'T flown in MSFS?

I just realised it has been well over 2 weeks since I last launched the Sim - certainly my longest “break” since I bought it on release day. (Other work/life commitments caused it - rather than a lack of enthusiasm or technical issues.)

Just wondering what your longest “hiatus” has been?

I think I once took a break of about 3 - 4 weeks many months ago, when there were so many annoying bugs that not a single flight went without a hitch, making me mad every time instead of having fun. Don’t remember when that was, though.

But since then I do at least a short flight every couple of days. I have a fever and MSFS is the cure (not more cowbells).

a break of 3 months during winter, too much problem with updates at this period (and the computer i have at this period was too low in performance for a good user’s experience)
Now, i didn’t launch a flight since 3 weeks ago, but it is also because i’m in creating a scenery (my first !) and that’s take all my free time.

I did not fly since three weeks now.

Real life simply keeps me too busy. So usually I plan a flight for 2 or 3 hours, fly approx. 1 or 2 hours and then there is a few weeks of waiting time until I find time to fly again.

About 6 months but now that it is more stable reloaded again. P3D is my main sim still but I like the scenery and environment 2020 offers so I use the Diamond Star for short 30 minute flights. I am busy in real life too but these short flights are fun. No flight plan, just take off and fly around for a bit.

Good question. I think around a week or so. I still do a lot of simming in XP and P3D because of how many addons there are.

Hahaha … two weeks. When I discovered my RAM was Bugg-ered and replaced it, it took me that long to get everything replaced and reinstalled (not just MSFS … unfortunately, I had a whole bunch of stuff that had to take priority :hushed: )

I don’t ‘fly’ as much as many of you, but I try to get something like an hour a night in if I can!

Tooooo long. Since Japan at least.

Wanted to learn basic combat and went to DCS World. Been doing that for awhile now and OI!, I am not a natural. I’m still in the painful/embarrassing stage, but ‘getting there’.

I hope with the Top Gun add-on, combat comes to MSFS. I’d rather be in the World’s greatest Flight Simulator.
Very happy MS/Asobo went for it and hooked up with Paramount ( hopefully DoD/DARPA too)! YEAH! From this perspective; there are many reasons we’re not allowed to discuss here as to WHY it’s a great decision.
I hope there are many other kinds of surprising and unexpected partnership$!

Added the FBW A320 NX and will be watching @320simpilot and others tutorial videos. THANK YOU folks!

At night it starts to itch here.. wanna try that Finland bush trip again.. or do screen shots, check out scenery issues, put things on the forum.. I prefer to fly MSFS when it is after midnight (here) and when I’m buzzy with work, I don’t stay up too late.. so for me, it has been max 4 days without MSFS.. maybe 5..

I missed less days on the forum.. here on the forum I can hop in and out, also at work.. starting MSFS takes a four minutes wait.

My longest ‘break’ was when work got busy and I couldn’t find the time anymore to play FS9. That was about 6 years ago.
Sometimes I feel MSFS releasing and losing my job was a sign. Now it’s never longer than 2-4 weeks, and I fly about 4 times per week when I have the time

I’ve flown 2-3 times since the last update. I’m really not enjoying it atm. I like low level VFR flight. The combination of performance degradation that’s come with every patch in 2021 and the now fugly ground textures and short draw distances for vegetation, has left a rather sour taste in my mouth.

I’m looking forward to the next update so that I can get those 2 things back. And I’ll likely return to daily flying at that point.

I guess 6 days, when I was out of town.

Still loving MSFS, glad it’s improved so much with a lot of basic bugs from the early days fixed (and yes a few new ones added, ah well), and with huge promised performance improvements coming in the next sim update I’m looking forward to plenty more flight time!

I used to fly much more with FSX (3-4 times per week for 1-3 hours each session), but with MSFS2020 it’s probably around 0-2. Not sure why, a lot of it initially was frustration with the sim stability. The built in planes don’t do much for me, but there are some really great projects getting them up in quality. Really holding out for some stuff from A2A or PMDG I guess…

The longest break was about 2 weeks. The rest is in hours - 1day. I fly average of 1 time per day. Have now aprox 370 hours flight time. I dont do long hauls, max 2-3 hours per flight. Most of them are <1 hour flighttime.

It’s been over 3 weeks already. First of all, it’s the performance of course which most people are experiencing. I only fly with FBW A32X and it really drops my FPS if I try to perform a landing to cities like Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt etc.

Second is the night lighting. Unlike many of the users of MSFS, my issue is the distance blurriness. I mostly am to be able to fly during the night, and I really don’t wanna play the game when I pass over a city.

Third is, I love long haul flights, but B787 is stuttering as hell, and hasn’t really been improved since the launch. So I kinda stopped playing.

I must really say that I am VERY dissapointed for buying the premium deluxe version, which I bought it only for the B787 but so far nothing but a dissapointment.

I switch it up some weeks I’m dirt rallying
other weeks are spent in American trucksim and euro truck sim 2 and I still play NASCAR racing 2003 season but current record was 3 weeks also farm sim 22 and kerbal space program 2 will be more weeks without fs2020 I’m also watching age of empires 4 with great interest because I play those games as well when not playing flight simulator plus actual car shopping for your first vehicle does take up a lot of time as well

I rarely have used MSFS in the last few months.
It’s just not ready for prime time.
I’m awaiting the next sim update for improvement.
Sadly it’s 1 year anniversary is approaching and in my opinion it is only slightly better.
Sim updates have slowed to a crawl to get this game on par with other products.
It has outstanding scenery compared to others and that’s it!
So for now using other software.

I haven’t made it a full day yet, without flying, since release. So, maybe 20 hours

24 hours max. Except for a break when I was away on vacation, and a few days off after one of the updates went really south. Other than that… daily habit.
