I’ve been searching info about when is correct moment for calling ground services in a realistic way. But I didn’t find to much info.
Until now, I’ve been calling refuel after having the APU running. Once finished, I ask the Jetway to start the boarding. At the same time I open the door for the baggage. But I don’t know if that would be very realistic.
I didn’t find any info in several checklist/flow I’ve checked.
Regards.
What I do is first start up the APU (from Cold and Dark), then I begin boarding. Next I call baggage and fuel services. Then maybe begin catering if it was needed.
But this will depend on how it is IRL. On cold and dark starts, airlines will probably add fuel and catering before boarding, and add baggage a little before and during boarding.
On turnarounds, they have the jetway connected all of the time while on the ground (mostly). Then they will do all of the ground jobs (baggage, fuel, etc.) during deplaning and boarding. And maybe baggage if it is needed
That is what I think airlines do IRL.

The only two references I’ve found about the ground services in several checklist I’ve checked were the belt light must turn on AFTER refueling and the review of ZFW/ZFWCG on MCDU AFTER the boarding.
