I am working on getting my basic controls mapped (to TCA Boeing yoke). I am following the wonderful help many of you gave on my my earlier post about a newbie lost in space! Thank you all for your help.
Today’s question - how do I figure out the number references such as numbers with a box around them.
Such as the number in a box - “boxed” 1
For many of the references I do not understand how to figure out whether the reference is to the number above the main keyboard or the number on the numeric keypad.
I’m not sure the gibberish above will come to life when I post.
There are also many references to numbers both in the Flight Simulator and in the great posts by NixonRedgrave. As for example: Gear up/down: 18
There isn’t any kind of 18 on my PC keyboard.
In terms of what I’ve shared re: Boeing yoke & throttles, those numbers pertain to the individual button/switch/knob/axis on the yoke or throttle quadrant.
Did you get to see this post? It breaks down the entire Boeing yoke and throttle quadrant(s) control number assignments.
Note: the number mappings are different for Xbox and PC, so be sure to check the correct section for your platform.
For the keyboard, it should not be referencing keys by number (other than the actual number keys 1-0). They are assigned by actual key name, such as “left shift” or “d”, etc.
Ensure you have clicked on the correct peripheral tab at the top of the Controls Options page. You want to be sure the peripheral you are wanting to assign commands to is the selected peripheral.
Yes, thank you and I have it printed out. OK, you’ve told me piece #1 - your references are to the yoke ONLY and have nothing to do with the keyboard. So if I hold (or click) the left trigger I think that will turn on the smart camera. It validates that way. Have to test it during the training modules. I have to go find the Thruster map of the key numbers and then work with my yoke to validate.
