I have never used anything but live weather. I get what I get. I don’t think I have ever seen formations that I have never seen IRL. I think part of the issue is that too few users have spent enough hours flying above the clouds IRL to recognize that no two days look the same. Cloud colouration can look very alien but trust me when I say, I have seen just about every conceivable colour of cloud IRL. My fav would be what I call “sky blue pink”. Pretty close to what was in my screenshots from last night.
Clouds can be so flat that it looks like you could bowl on them. This 2D vs 3D argument is laughable. Depending on lighting, clouds, from above, can be just a few feet thick and nearly invisible or appear like a sheet of wax paper. At dusk and dawn, I have climbed through a layer that I didn’t even notice on takeoff that completely obscured the ground once through to the top.
I wonder how many, that say the clouds look unrealistic, have ever seen them from above IRL.
