There’s no rush; don’t put yourself under pressure. You can do it gradually over several weeks or months, focusing on what offers the most immediate value—in my opinion, that means photos of the best major parks. The less impressive ones don’t need to be processed. If you like, I can help by providing a few shots of various locations.
That’s really kind of you John, thank you mate ![]()
If you’re happy to help with a few screenshots, that would definitely make things easier. Feel free to choose whichever parks you fancy doing, especially the ones you enjoy flying over, and then I can pick up the rest from there.
And don’t worry, I’m not feeling pressured into rushing it. I just know that in 6 months or less, life is probably going to get a lot more chaotic and busy for me, so while I’ve got the time and motivation now, it feels like the best time to start building this up properly.
It doesn’t all need to be finished overnight though. I’ll get the gallery system in place, then we can slowly add the best screenshots as we go.
Really appreciate the offer mate — this could help a lot.
@AirRhodessa
To broaden the community involvment, you could create a new topic in Community Content Hangar > World Photographer & Screenshots for users to post potential screenshots for inclusion on the website. Users could like the posts to help you in deciding which ones to use.
You could give the topic a title such as:
AirRodesssa’s “Best Photogrammetry to Fly In” Screenshot Submissions
with the first post describing the purpose of the topic, link to your website and this topic for background, and a link on the website back to the screenshot topic so users of the website (who may not know about this forum) can submit screenshots too.
Over time, you could, perhaps on a monthly basis, rotate screenshots so that the website remains fresh - particularly whenever a PG area gets a refresh in a new WU or CU.
PS: In order for you to get some rest, as a Volunteer Moderator, I could always lock down this topic from, say 10:00 pm to 8:00 am (your time) every day so you can get some zzzzz’s. If my CM bosses queried why I was doing this, I’d just claim I was doing it under your doctor’s orders!!!

Love the idea — that actually makes a lot of sense ![]()
Turning it into a proper community screenshot submission topic could really help, especially if people can post their best shots and others can react to them. It would also take a bit of the pressure off me having to capture absolutely everything myself.
I’ll have a go at setting up a new topic for it, with a few simple guidelines so people know what kind of screenshots would be useful for the site.
Now for the last bit… luckily my wife hasn’t seen that suggestion, because she’d probably pay you to lock it from 6pm to 8am every day ![]()
So I’ll make sure she never, ever sees this post lol.
Thanks again for the idea — really appreciate it.
Quick update everyone ![]()
I’ve now created a new forum topic for PG Hangar screenshot submissions.
The idea is for the community to share great screenshots of the best photogrammetry areas to fly in — National Parks, Scenic Hi-Res AOIs, Gold Standard cities, Mega Cities, and new World Update / City Update locations.
Selected screenshots may be used on PG Hangar in future Explorer Map galleries, with credit given where possible.
So if you capture a screenshot that makes you think, “people need to fly here,” feel free to post it in the new topic.
Thanks again to @johnwhite92 and @SmotheryVase665 for the idea and suggestions — really appreciate it.
FYI, link to the topic:
@AirRhodessa
Can you add, under “A few simple screenshot tips:” an extra bullet point:
- A maximum of 10 screenshots per post (as per forum guidelines)
As most folks know, any post with more than 10 screenshots in this forum gets flagged & hidden, & we don’t want to that to happen here! - Thanks!
@SmotheryVase665 Just added it ![]()

Quick PG Hangar update everyone ![]()
Another community screenshot gallery batch has now been added to the site.
New / updated gallery coverage includes:
Rocky Mountain National Park — screenshots by @johnwhite92
Everglades National Park — screenshots by @hairstreak62
Guadalupe Mountains National Park — screenshots by @johnwhite92
Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument — screenshots by @johnwhite92
Alpine Visitor Center POI — screenshot by @johnwhite92
Shark Valley Tower POI — screenshots by @hairstreak62
Leeds Bradford — screenshot by @PaulausPilot
I’ve also made a couple of WU22 rating adjustments after further community feedback:
Badlands National Park has been raised to 8/10
Everglades National Park has been raised to 6/10
A special thank you to @hairstreak62 for re-checking Everglades and posting those screenshots. I originally rated it too low, but the floatplane/wetland flying, coastal waterways and morning light definitely show it has more going for it than I first gave it credit for.
Huge thanks again to everyone sending screenshots and feedback. This is exactly why the community side of PG Hangar is so useful — the ratings and galleries get better when more people fly these areas and share what they find.
