While I am waiting for Thrustmaster control

I want to download FS to play in this awful wintry months. After doing some research, I would like to get a Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS Hotas to get more realistic feel of the flight. But all Thrustmaster controls are either not in stock, or priced higher than a Boeing 747 Dreamliner can fly. I guess it would be month(s) after the holiday before I will be able to lay my hand on one at a reasonable price.

At the meantime, I am wondering if I get a xBox 360 type of wired control, would I be able to learn and enjoy the game while I wait?

Hoping to get myself engaged in these wintry months.

Thanks.

Ya it’s pretty difficult to get your hands on a Hotas or yoke at the moment. I was lucky to get one of the last ones available.

You could go the Xbox controller route, which isn’t fantastic, but works okay to get you started. You can use the left analog stick for flying, the triggers for throttle, and the other analog stick for looking around. Not ideal, but still doable.

I got my t.16000m from B&H about three weeks ago for the regular price - $69.95. I see now they are out again but are listing it at $79.99 - still better that the over $100 prices others are offering. Delivery was quick when they had it in stock.

They are out of stock. I have registered for availability notice.

You know where I can get an instruction/manual/download on what button is for what using the xBox controller for FS.

You can map it to whatever you want in the game, but I imagine it’ll have some defaults pre-loaded if you go into the controls section of the game.

Here are the defualt keyboard and xbox controller mappings:

Thanks.
That’s very helpful.

:beers:

Yes, I saw that too.

Logitech G X52 H.O.T.A.S Throttle and Stick Simulation Controller

How’s that compared with the Thrustmaster T.16000M H.O.T.A.S.?

I viewed some youTube comparison and am leaning to waiting for the Thrustmaster HOTAS to come back in stock instead.

From the pictures, it looks like that the Logitech X52 is a lot more solid, and more sophisticated. But most of the reviews seem to favor the T.16000M.

I guess the proof is in the putting.
