Greetings!
It’s time for a bit of fresh air here on the forums.
Of course, it’s easy to complain about what annoys you in MSFS - and it is, (at times), constructive - for example, when you have an issue and someone chimes in and says “Do this!” to help solve your problem.
But, (IMHO), what we need is a way to express our appreciation for those who have helped make MSFS worthwhile - the members, community leaders, and moderators who have helped people make the most of their simulator experience despite the kinks, rocks in the road, potholes, and all around craziness that accompanies a project of this magnitude.
=======================
Who has helped ME? In a word, everyone. Everyone here has helped make my experience with MSFS better and better.
I am a noob. A nugget that is the lowest of the low, with little to no experience in both flying and simulation.
Likewise, my “forum” socialization is, (sometimes), less than ideal. But the moderator staff are helping guide my path to an improved quality of my submissions, for which I thank them. (Despite the occasional frustration.
)
My thanks go out to everyone - both those who have asked the questions that I wanted to ask and those who took the time to provide considered and helpful answers.
Most recently I saw a thread on what difference do propeller settings make and why do we even have propeller settings. The answer featured a link to a video that provided valuable insight on constant speed propellers and how they fit in to the overall handling of an aircraft. Result? I have discovered that by managing the propeller speed, it makes handling the aircraft and holding a fixed altitude much easier.
How to tune MSFS for acceptable frame rates. How to make controls do what you want them to do. What does option “X” actually mean and how does it work. And so on. I acknowledge and owe a debt of gratitude to all who have helped me.
What say ye?
