Who has recently become obsessed with flight simming

Great you like it!

I started with Flightsimming as a kid, when our family got the first PC. My dad got me FS98 and a bit later he gave me some money and told me “Go get us a joystick!”

From then it was mostly flying the Learjet out of Meigs Field and find some airfields to land at. Then i got interested in finding out how to even properly navigate using VORs and stuff and so i got into it more and more. Keep in mind, in 98 Internet was not very common, utterly slow and youtube tutorials werent a thing. But somehow i figured things out.

I did not miss any MS Flightsim since then and switched to P3D after FSX.
Meanwhile i started my PPL on a C172, have about 30hrs logged and the theoretical exams passed, but well, its on hold since a while due to the virus and stuff…

So, flying on VATSIM in the evenings is my joy after a days work

You should definitely look into VATSIM when you feel ready. It might look very intimidating, but you just have to throw yourself into it. You will learn by doing and it will increase the realism and fun so much.Just tonight im having my first lessons as a VATSIM ATC.

So there is much more to this hobby than just flying if it gets a bit “boring” one day.
