There’s an option to mute the sim when the application is not “in focus” in Windows. I’ve had that set since day two. The only thing that overrides that is when an update completes, whether it’s a sim update or a Marketplace/Content Manager update. I leave the sim in windowed mode, then pull up something like the Task Manager so I can glance at the bandwidth graph, then grab a “beverage” and head to the couch to watch TV. It may be a bug, but for me, when the music starts back up, I know the updates are done.
