I ordered/paid for the PD version and received the Deluxe. I would really like to know how many of us are out there. After four months and all the wonderful updates that have been made, it is time MS started making this right.
Have you ever checked whether all content has been loaded in the profile under the content manager?
Yes, a number of times. Not interested in work-arounds at this point interested in how many of us are still out there.
then report this problem to Zendesk
I got a slide-show.
Loading the premium content from the content manager is not a work around, it is one of the steps to loading the sim. Everyone loads the base sim, and then those that paid for the premium content would then go into the content manager to load that content. I am sure it was set up that way for a reason.
I have paid Premium Deluxe and I have received the Premium Deluxe since day 1. Sorry the comment, but I read so many comments on this forum about all kind of unbelievable issues, and I ask for myself why this people doesn’t think about what they can be doing wrong and how to solve. Do you really believe that MS or Asobo have launched a product and are selling something that it’s not delivered as Premium edition. To solve the issue start thinking that the issue is on your side, and probably you will find the solution.
There is a similar topic just s little further down…

Steve
I’m happy to find out that very few have not got what they paid for. Next to check will be the account entries - so far MS has not responded to 4 e mails and wants $5 to have a one time chat.
Thanks to all who have tried to get to a solution for me. For those who got the version they ordered, being sanctimonious is not helpful.
I paid for premium deluxe and realized if I don’t keep my xbox live account, I cant play, as I don’t own the standard version…apparently.
So I paid well over $100 but don’t own the basic game files? I did not see that stated anywhere when I made the purchase.
I don’t think anyone is being sanctimonious - I think people are just a little mystified how this could be a problem, so try not to take it personally - I’m sure it must be frustrating and that you simply want the product you paid for.
As stated, the ONLY appropriate and “official” support channel is Zendesk. I’m not sure what email address you were using, but unless it was given to you BY a zendesk support staff member, and you were specifically instructed to use it, it’s very likely not the appropriate place to be requesting support of any kind.
I should also emphasize:
At no point EVER, should you be paying ANY amount of money for ANY kind of support for MSFS. I don’t say that as a matter of opinion, but of fact. No support email, phone number, or otherwise, linked to Microsoft will be asking you for money to support MSFS. period.
Microsoft is simply the publisher of the game. It would be akin to approaching GMC about a missing part on your purchase order from the service desk at a third party mechanic.
If you’ve already tried Zendesk, and not had a resolution, your other recourses are:
a) make another zendesk ticket
b) try to get support on twitter @MSFS_Support
c) try to get a refund issued through your credit-card provider.
Let me try and help you out. Hopefully nobody else gets confused here too.
I think there is either a “mistake” with your billing or account, or some confusion. Unless you’ve found a weird bug with the purchasing system at microsoft store, or steam, I don’t think its possible to purchase the upgrades but NOT the base game and also play it. If you ARE in this situation, you NEED to CONTACT support via Zendesk to seek clarification. I say that firstly because that, from a game perspective, it literally makes no sense for it to be any other way. If you purchase the premium deluxe, and you played the game, then you have the base game. It cannot be any other way. If this isn’t the case, there has been screw up, and it should be fixed.
More Generally
If you purchase the game on steam, and then you want to get rid of your steam account, you wont be able to play the game.
I can only assume that the same applies to xbox live. If you purchase the game via your xbox live account (and someone please correct me if im wrong here), I would not at all be surprised that if you then deactivated or otherwise “removed” your live account, that you would then not be able to play the game.
This is how game services work. It’s how the content is delivered, and how the billing-per-customer is tracked. There is no magic way to deliver the game if you dont have, or remove, your service account with the provider.
There are ways to obtain a “physical” copy of the game, but that’s left largely to small businesses and other entities that require a physical copy for business continuity and/or internet quality of service reasons.
For what its worth, if you purchase the game through xbox store, steam, or what have you, it makes sense to keep that account active, in good standing, and to ensure you have access to the email account attached. You don’t stand to gain much be deactivating an account, truthfully.
Appreciate your thoughts. I bought the PD msfs via MS store for $119 with a pre order. My e mails were sent to the MS store using the e address on the printed receipt. My icon was given at the time of download and everything downloaded nicely (but only 25 aircraft )- including digital ownership to the deluxe version - and all came as a “bundle”. The program has worked fine to date and does so as long as all MS updates are done prior doing simulator updates. Content manager is as it should be - except that it is for the D version, not the PD version. It shows digital ownership of D version. Went back to the receipt and for some reason, the description was written as 1 Deluxe version and the price shown as $119 + tax - the price of the Premium Deluxe version. They charged my credit card the &119. Hoping this is some kind of clerical error that can be easily fixed. I don’t think this is a Zendesk problem, but we shall see.
I ordered premium and only got the base model. There are hidden requirements that microsoft are not revealing. In my case, it ended up being a compatibility issue with Windows 10 build 1903, which is not compatible with fs2020. After upgrading to a newer build I was able to get the premium content, but had to go through a complete reinstall of everything.
thats an absurd hidden requirement and im sorry you had that experience!
That is not how the product should be working.
I had a really hard time getting it installed and working. I tried to contact the ms store support and ms support and just got a run-around until someone here pointed me to the zendesk.
Those guys identified the issue right away and provided me with steps to correct the issue.
You make a very good point. I never considered that aspect.
I had joined Xbox live for the 1.00 month special to try out fs2020, I then made what I thought was a full purchase through the Microsoft store, not considering what you were saying. When Xbox live became full price, I cancelled it, as I don’t play any of the other games (except Forza 4, which I then purchased in the same way). It shows i own Forz4, but not fs2020, so I signed back up to Xbox live @ $11.95 monthly, so I can play fs2020 (which I thought I bought for approx $130.00)
