Rain in a cockpit gets quite loud, indeed! But it’s very rare that I’ve come across an add-on in which the rain is suitably loud in the cockpit, and none of the simulators do it natively.
I wish this was something that could be done globally via an add-on. I mean, it probably can, but that’s beyond me.
I’m curious if this irks anyone else?
FS2004 was the last sim I used that had decent rain sounds. I used to love the sound of it in the cockpit of the PSS Concorde while I was readying for departure.

I have noticed it too. And why does snow sound like rain in MSFS2020? FS9 (FS2004) did get it right. Active Sky with FS9 was amazing. I still have it on a second PC running Windows XP. When I want a bit of nostalgia or weather done right I’ll fire that sim up. I’m not sure about MSFS2024 as I never bought it.
