Because the headmaster is probably giving the directions to squeeze more short term profits regardless of the product. In the end, if Microsoft wants Microsoft Flight Simulator to really succeed, they need to give it autonomy from this kind of decision making.
They are, however, creating a perfect opening for competition in the flight simulation space. And I DO hope another big player decides to compete head to head. Everyone sees the potential of a World Simulator for Flight, and all other activites.
Iād love to see a World Simulator where you can drive, truck, train (as in trains), boat, fly, ship, submarine, hike, dive, walk, exploreā¦ Physics is physics.
The same as I get with literally every other software on the planet. I write music and use Studio One which just had version 7 come out. Guess what? All the version 6 stuff works as it did in v6 and the additions and changes for v7 have been heavily tested prior to release. Not bug free but v7 kept NO ONE from making music.
Like expecting āPrintā to work on the new version of Word, here I expected no regressions, I expected simply a lateral move from 2020 with advertised enhancements. Right away though, the MOST important part of the setupā¦ controllersā¦ aside from the wonky interface/procedure, the visuals for sensitivity calibration donāt work. They DO work in 2020 so what did they do so that magically in 2024 it doesnāt work? Read the room here and youāll find hundreds and hundreds of regression bugs along with things that just donāt work at all with the new stuff.
I also expected them to have some common sense and not, in the middle of bandwidth and server issues, stream 100% of everyoneās 2020 content. āEmpty your community folder before reporting bugsā. Excellent advice. Good luck bug solving when you have three years of xbox purchases clogging up your new pc environment. Oh and weāre having bandwidth and error issues. Perfect time to stream every 2020 purchase ever made whether it was installed or not
Thereās plenty of posts here and elsewhere to fully answer that question. Mine is but a blip
I cannot believe I have to ask for a refund, but as Iām unable to load the flight 6 days into the release, Iām sorry but I want my money back. You get this release right and Iāll consider giving you my money. What a farce.
I was hoping that after the shambolic release of 2020 initially + several SUās they would learn their lesson, but they didnāt so they will lose a customer.
I purchased the sim a day after the launch day, the download went in quick and in no time at all I was in the sim, I wondered what all the fuss was about.
I played for around about 1 hour trying to get the best settings in VR but then my pc froze and I was forced to shut my PC down. When I tried to load into the sim again I joined the 97% club.
I done a clean install of windows but still I get the message at 97%, I requested a refund Ā£129.99 and have been refused saying I have requested too many times for refunds, I have never requested a refund on any other Microsoft game.
Iām a experienced flight simmer and have a very high end pc, Iām absolutely exhausted after trying to get MSFS 2024 to work.
yeah I had bought mine back in Aug from Xbox store. I believe they are working on not having to stream allā¦ they hope by XMas if I read right. I WILL by it again if thats the case. Thatās the only reason I got my money back. It had bugs but I expected that and man for me it was so much more fun then MFS 2020
You must be joking. I bought PD version. None of the aircraft is bug free, and most of them are unplayable. What we bought was a mess and full of faults, and they knew it.
I had already tried refunding via the Xbox site and got the (invalid) denial with ātoo many refundsā. After that I filled out the online form mentioned earlier in this thread which gave me a different case number but no progress info on the refund progress page.
I went onto the MS Store (not Xbox) and used the chat line to get a refund. As far as I could tell it seemed to be (mostly) a human operator - apart from one instant reply that had a load of info about resetting browser cache etc when I told them I couldnāt see the progress of my refund request.
At a later point, I was transferred to Xbox support (12 minute average connection delay at the tiime) and the guy there, after a while did the refund there and then. It was pending on my credit card immediately after the call.
Iāll go back to good 'ol MSFS 2020 and do some flights there until MS/Asobo sort out MSFS 2024 (and I am sure they will - itās worth too much not to). Then Iāll buy the stable MSFS2024 and commit to this great FS progression again.
@meh1951
If you having issues argumenting with them here is the official replay I got from support stating they can not do anything to help me running the Sim.
It might be harder to argue for them if they are waving the withe flag.
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Flight Simulator Support today.
If the troubleshooting steps hasnāt resolved the issue, we can only ask you to try again later. As you stated, this is most likely caused by issues on the server side and we are constantly investigating crashing logs we are automatically receiving from players. We are planning to release the next update to the sim this week that should mitigate most of the common crashing issues users are seeing.
Kind regards,
Microsoft Flight Simulator Support Team
But but butā¦refunds work fine for me. Theyāre amazing in fact. The whole refund system is the best thing Iāve ever seen in my life. It must be your PC.
The refund server was definitely tested.
Have some patience, we might have a working refund system in 3-4 years time.
