Even MSFS 2024 content doesn’t work in MSFS 2024, last time I checked H225 would still cause game to crash in certain conditions and helicopter flight model is a joke
I’m sure lots of folks are doing their best on this software, and we’re all really grateful for that. The main issue here, at least for me, and probably the OP and others, is what Microsobo is NOT telling us. And as result, they’re not being forthright about the state of the software. I bought the Aviator Edition to support the effort, but was still shocked to see what shape these aircraft were in as well others that had been carried over from 2020. Nowhere in the item description, promotional material, or Q&As leading up to the release was it disclosed that some of these aircraft were straight up broken, and many had broken features. What we were told was that the vast majority of 2020 add-ons would work in 2024. And yet here we are, 2020 add-ons not working in 2024, and not just third-party add-ons, but official ones being sold in a 2024 package. It’s totally reasonable that some third-party add-ons would not work 100%, but you’d think they would at least get the official 2020 content that’s being resold to work. Some of them are still pretty janky from what I hear now about a year later, and you’d only know this if you really dug around. Surely they knew. I mean some wouldn’t even start or take-off, so it’s not about the difficulties testing a complex product either. When you sell a game with missing features, and broken features, without saying as much, that is dishonest. I empathize with the OP.
Well, except for the 10,000+ bug fixes and improvements they’ve released since last December, I guess.
I am sorry we cannot match your expectations; we are working 7-day weeks right now to get the 737 ready.
And FS2024 forgotten? Asobo has been pushing out updates, we have released the 777 (a native FS2024 version), our befriended competitors have released fantastic DLC. Perhaps you need to lift a corner of the stone and peek out.

I’m not upset; I wonder if you might confuse companies. We never sold you a B737 that works in FS2024. You bought a product for FS2020 without any promises about compatibility with a possible newer simulator. Your expectations towards PMDG are just unfounded. We never claimed the FS2020 version would work in FS2024. We knew it would not.
We have invested several man-years reworking our FS2020 737 (the one you bought) into a version that suits the market and simulator. We will offer a serious discount for owners like you, who own the FS2020 version.

Ok folks. As a reminder - if you have specific voice of the customer concerns about Third Party Products (i.e., not Microsoft/Asobo), take them directly to the manufacturer.
This is not the forum to air those concerns. As a further reminder, if you wish to have your Microsoft/Asobo related concerns be received, please use the support link at the top of the forum and a Zendesk ticket will get routed to the proper teams.
Let’s keep this civil and On General Topic.
With marketing and PR things can often be interpreted as a promise without anyone really making such. But that said, Microsoft and Asobo have made most/many of the 2020 aircraft compatible enough to fly and enjoy. Certainly with a fair percentage of minor bugs.
I think any software that undergoes major changes and has many third-party partners will inevitably have a number of instances where a dev has made something non-standard and works in the sim but is not robust enough to transition to the new versions.
The way forward is for more addons to be released that have been built specifically for 2024. It sucks that the content you buy becomes obsolete but this seems to be the way everything is going unless you have it on physical medium (and then even it can get bricked).
Like anything, you should wait before purchasing and find reliable sources that will review addons and give you more information. You don’t need to pre-order anything. Choose products from devs you think will continue to support their products.
I’ve spent days trying to figure out exactly what the problem is with most 2020 aircraft. No offense, but the statement “I feel like a broken record posting this again and again and again” @MucusTech is just ridiculous. I wouldn’t complain if most aircraft worked; I don’t expect autopilot compatibility just expect most aircraft to leave the ground, and unfortunately, that’s not happening. If you think I’m a “newbie,” I’ve been flying with my local flying club for two years have my LAPL, and I’ve been using FSMS 2020 since the beginning of 2021 every day, and sometimes FSMS 2024.
I said what I said because you misrepresented what Asobo said about compatibility. I merely quoted accurately, whereas you distorted what had been said. And many, many people have been distorting it on these forums.
Okay, I’ve been following the Q&A for years now, and I think many people are simply too optimistic about software. Why defend something that clearly causes problems?I think most people have been investing months and years in the simulator, and at some point the software should reach a neutral standpoint. But the problems don’t just start in 2024; they will continue indefinitely.
I understand that 2024 doesn’t have much in common with 2020. But why port so many add-ons to the 2024 system when there are already so many problems, especially with the native 2024 aircraft? And the port to the PS5… IT’S CLEAR THAT THE Asobo TEAM HAS BEEN OVERWHELMED FOR YEARS JUST WITH THE BASIC SIM. And yes, the decision probably wasn’t made by Asobo, but the chain of events is my main concern. Like to mention that I’ve often been told I blame Microsoft/Asobo for the problems. My experience shows that there’s a certain imbalance between good and bad third-party development. There are always individual aircraft and scenery from developers that have specific problems, and I don’t even want to single out Asobo and Microsoft for that. There were some issues, for example, CTD with many 2020 aircraft in the past. Suddenly, with the Su-14 and Su-15, I had almost no problems or CTD issues with most aircraft, without the third-party developers ever releasing an update. My experience shows that Microsoft and Asobo like to shift the blame onto third-party developers.
FS2020 has been commercially dead ever since FS2024 was released. Sales just drop to very low amounts when a new version is announced. Now, there are still a ton of FS2020 users, but they do not invest in add-ons for that platform. The commercial makers of DLC have no other option but to go where the customers are.
We do not share your negative feelings about FS2024. Since the unfortunate release, the platform has matured nicely, and SU4 promises to solve many open issues.

I’ve been an enthusiast since the 2020 release. Of course, I understand that the 2020 version has improved dramatically since its release; otherwise, I don’t think I would have stuck with it. However, the connections between 2020 and 2024 are too strong when so much is different. Set reasonable standards for 2020 aircraft. It currently feels like a lottery: will my 2020 plane leave today or not?
At least regarding aircraft I think we have to draw a line between the stock/bulk/free models that came with the sim (they all handfly like ■■■■ in my opinion) and the proper payware products. Meaning those that are made by proper developers that are willing to put the proper amount of hours in them so that they work and fly properly. As opposed to models that were just pushed out the door as they were. Pmdg is a sound example of such developers. Unfortunately it takes time. The fact that 2024 released in the state that it was didnt help at all. If you (and i) want models that fly properly we have to wait until the likes of pmdg start releasing them. That will take some time. I’m happy to wait.
I think they do say that in each of the video Developer Streams, by going through each problem or dysfunctional element in detail and telling us what’s involved in “fixing” it and what they can and can’t get to the requested outcome, and what other elements are affected by this. I never got the feeling that they not telling us things or distorting things. ![]()
