Why are there so few live players? By setting the multiplayer to live players and the weather to real time, it is very rare to meet other pilots, even when flying over big and famous cities. Do you think it’s a server problem or a pilot’s choice?
What server are you on? On U.S. West I see people all the time.
I see loads in the UK, maybe timezone is different to the server you’re on so less players on ?
I tried different servers, US west as well, but no luck at all. Now I’m in automatic server.
try switching to “All players”, live players is sometimes a little sketchy.
Yes, I have no issues with all players, but I would have preferred a little more realism with live players. But unfortunately the sky it’s a desert!
ah I gotcha… yeah, im not sure whats up with that.
I think that by the time you divide all the players on at any time between all the servers, then divide again between Live, All, and None, you wind up with very few aircraft around you unless you’ve organized a group flight in advance.
I mean, to be fair, I normally don’t play on the inbuilt online servers much because I’ve had too many cases of some barnstorming child in a F-18 flying through me to see if I’ll react to him. So more often than not I just use FSLTL so at least the other planes behave in a somewhat predictable manner. Or Vatsim if I want to deal with other players.
Except for occasional ‘FlyIn’ events, I don’t find much joy in the stock multiplayer.
But, there are usually people. I have found for instance if you’re flying in the same region as the online server there is more population… Meaning that if you’re in Europe, but you’re attached to a US server, you’re going to see few people… And as Steve pointed out timezones can play a role for sure too.
Live players (or whatever its called) forces weather, so limits to people flying in same conditions, obviously narrows the list a lot. All players will give best results, but… It’s not exactly what you’re after.
I think after all my typing we can go all TL;DR and just say that MS/Asobo could probably give this a lot of thought for MS2024, because it really shouldn’t be one of the pain points.
You are probably right, for now I will use FSLTL hoping that FS2024 will solve the problem.
Have you checked Xbox networking is connected? It doesn’t affect the sim itself, only multiplayer.
I vote for one world one server! ![]()
