Why are there so many trees in FS2020 that have big chunks taken out of the middle? Like millions of giraffes have been roaming the entire world

I always thought it was odd that they simulated grass motion dependant on wind but not tree. Surely there would be a similar performance hit with trees?

Yes 51% may well be conifer but the vast majority are in forestry commission or private plantations where pine is grown for use as timber/lumber, the rest tend to be isolated or hedge versions in peoples gardens. They are not native to the UK and dont grow naturally here. The mix of trees in the sim in the UK is poor, nothing like reality because no effort has been made to identify tree types on the photo scenery (deciduous or pine) and place them accurately. I say that because in other regions of the world that effort has been made so clearly it can be done.

Somebody did a mod to replace that stupid pine tree with the big lump out of its middle, the alternative is Bijans excellent mod which changes UK trees considerably.

If a 60 story building was in the middle of nowhere, i would expect it to be fixed as soon as possible. If Mt Rushmore was replaced by…something else…i’d want it to be fixed.

You’re right. I am one of those people that will tell you ā€œit’s a flight simulator not a train/car/boat/house/farm simulatorā€ But i’m not gonna be obnoxious about it. I’m just calling it as i see it. The average person will not know the difference between a fir and a spruce or a pine, let alone at 1000 feet, 5000 feet or 35000 feet off the ground.

It would also take that many resources away from much needed bug fixing and QOL improvements and i’d hardly consider tree accuracy a QOL improvement. I’d see making trees accurate something they do many years from now but Blackshark is only so intelligent…

Finally, i don’t appreciate being called ā€œA silly sausageā€ or mocked because i wanna play pretend pilot instead of pretend arborist
