Why autopilot doesn't follow the pink line?

I select the “World Map” module, then I select a route from Oslo to Bergen (in Norway) for a quick flight, as shown in the screenshot below:

On the navigator I see a pink line to the Bergen airport.

Then on the runway I set off parking brake, give full throttle to take off. After take off as soon as possible I activate autopilot:

But after take off, the plane doesn’t follow the pink line. I tried to take the plane very close to the pink line, but still it doesn’t follow it. I tried to disable and enable the autopilot, still same result.

I took a flight to Bergen, and only when it was very close to the arrival airport, the autopilot started to follow the pink lines and landed it automatically.

Shouldn’t the plane follow the pink line on the autopilot? Why it doesn’t work in my plane?

Have you set up the FMS correctly?

For LNAV to work - you need to be within the vicinity of the selected route in FMS and within +/- 10-30 degrees for it to work.

The autopilot will only follow the LNAV magenta path (pink line as you describe it) if you are within the vicinity of selected route.

It may be that you have some Piloting Assistance options on, as it seems like AI is flying the aircraft.
MSFS has been known to change these settings, so you should verify all are off.

I tried before to fly close to the near path as the magenta line, but it didn’t connect.

This time I first flied to the starting point of the magenta path, in the almost same route as the magenta path is showing. Then I disabled and enabled autopilot again, and it worked, now it just follow the magenta path.

The FMS seems to be setup correct.

In the map I see “stars” and “triangles” as nodes of the magenta path. I need to first manually get very close to a “star” first for it to work?

You should not need to be at the very start of a leg but do need to have the current leg active.

What do you mean by leg?

In my flight I have been very close to the starting point with autopilots are activated:

But even after that, the plane didn’t start following the magento path, just crossed away.

I tried again and again, I got same result. Only a couple of times it started to follow the magenta path.
For me it seems like its very random when it’ll follow the path or not.

I found the issue, I just had to click the LNAV button before takeoff to get the plane connected to the magento line., and then on CMD after the takeoff so it automatically follows the magento line.
