Why can't I and some others not see some things

I have been trying to see Machu Picchu for days now. I just doesn’t show up in my standard version of the sim. I am in the correct location. somebody was kind enough to forward me a link to a Utube flight to Machu Picchu which I duplicated as best I could. I took screen shot of the Utube video looking down at the site and also took a screenshot from my flight in the same location. There were a lot differences in the way things displayed, like rivers and roads. I look with graphic setting set to ultra, which works fine on my rig, but I also looked with the video turned down some, but there was no real difference. I have been told that the world is the same for everyone in the sim, but it does not appear to be true for all people. I don’t want to report it as a bug because I am not sure that it is. But I would like an explanation.

I think it’s not there (yet) in the default sim. The vid you watched probably used a scenery-mod…

Other folks I’ve talked with have seen it and they didn’t mention a mod. But you may be right.

Yep - Machu Pichu citadel is there, as a 2d texture only. The village, MachuPichu Pueblo, in the valley, 1.5miles to the North East, is represented in 3d. You can spot the citadel by the zig-zag path leading up the mountain to it.

To find easily, plot a course from SPZO to SPKI, 30 miles into the flight, look left. On the Global map this is where you see your course cross a snowy peak.

We had a case of Pilot Error. In Options>General>Data I had Bing Data World Graphics switched off. Once I turned it on everything was there, the 2d Machu Picchu and the 3d village.
