Microsoft figured out how to allow Windows how to download updates in the background while still using Windows, only installing the updates when you reboot. Why can’t MSFS download updates in the background and let you continue flying with what you have. I don’t really care about the Japan experience. I am trying to build my own bush trip and can’t get to it because of constant updates that prevent me from flying.
Is there a way to continue flying while updates are downloading?
Complexity and reasonably significant development time.
They have bigger fish to fry at the moment.

That, and also the fact that in multiplayer games, you save yourselves a lot of headaches as a developer if you force everyone onto the same version before they connect. (I know that’s a touchy subject given the last patch, but the general point is still true.)
