Why can't we fly airbuses in career?

I can’t believe there is no outcry about this issue.
Are you all really ok with not be able to fly any Airbus Airliner in Career Mode at all!?

Can’t stay silent anymore.

I know there are the Boing lovers and the Airbus lovers and ideally both are accessible on a flightsimulator launch and I understand that there are circumstances that can prevent a good launch but…

my good Asobo and Microsoft … it is HALF a YEAR now !? Half a Year! a whole half a year. half of a whole year… aeh yes…

Really upset by now. As I heard there are still no Airbuses in Career in Beta SU2.
So.. does this mean we will see no Airbuses again with SU2 release?
(no one cares about your Beluga byway we speak about normal Airliner Airbuses)

I know you have to fix the IniBuild Cockpit Freezes that are in since FS2020 !
I don’t understand why you decided to integrate a buggy Airplane into FS2024 but fine was your decision.. now fix it and integrate it please! We are waiting!

If it helps.. I don’t care what Airbus be it A320, A330 any modern Airbus will do.
And I don’t care if it will be IniBuild or Fenix or Labs or FBW…

Just give us one single Airbus A320 or A330 so we Airbus lovers can enjoy the Career mode too.

I don’t see how you can call this a modern civil flightsimulator with Career Mode when you did not even included the most used Airliner Aircraft of today.

Oh and that cockpit freeze should have priority because those inibuild airbuses are unusable even in free flight. I didn’t buy the A350 because it has the same issue.

So in essence you not even provide a working Airliner Airbus in Free Flight for over half a year now.

Aren’t you ashamed!?

what airliners you have in your hangar, for free flight?

Seems like there is a significant outcry.

I use the FBW Developer A320 for Free Flight. Works really fine and more important stable. I fly long hours and nothing worse than a cockpit freeze or CTD and you can’t end your 6 to 8 hour flight.

Actually I am waiting on the Career before I decide which will become my main plane in the future. Of course I want to pick one that works in Free Flight AND in Career.

Also for Immersion I would like one I can see the passengers in the cabin but in a consitent way. Right now you can board passengers (believe inibuild freeflight) but as soon as you push back they are gone.
Like the solution of when you close the cabin door they are no more drawn that is fine.. but they shouldn’t just vanish.

Next to that point the performance is also key. Forexample the FBW A380 is a really fine plane but it drops the FPS dramaticly and although I don’t mind low framerates it is a problem in VR and I do fly in VR for preparation, take off and landing.
There is a lot to consider and evaluate for me once there is the possibility.
But if it continues that way with them basicly doing nothing for Career Mode then I don’t know if I turn my back to FS2024 or help myself with FreeFlight and building my own career mod or simple go more often outside E-Mountainbikeing.

@BegottenPoet228
There are not in any spot light. So Asobo and Microsoft simple ignores them.
As we know they have 100 of bugs and they simple choose the one they like and prefer and not the ones we like and prefer to be solved.

Worst I read so far is that the BetaTester reported bugs just become archived after an SU release. I mean really!?

So basicly they don’t care at all. Not happy with how they work and address problems. But what can we do? Nothing except such poking posts ever now and then.

It also doens’t helps that they do not communicate with us.
I know those steam videos they talk but not talk also. Obvious Asobo Employee may not say anything. Not an open talk at all.

With any other game I would simple stop playing and buying games from them. But you see I grew up with the FlightSimulator and don’t want to miss it.

Landing after 6 hours on sunset in free flight when all runs smooth..it is just a dream. I love it.

Byway if that helps with the cockpit freezes..I just recogniced that the PC-24 sometimes loses the Terrain display after 6 hours. Luckly that is not essential.
But maybe that has the same cause. Who knows.

You really seem to like to mix all kind of different and completely unrelated topics here, right? I’m in the mood to untangle that.

Different yet unrelated thing. Wasn’t even aware there are PAX in the iniBuilds aircraft as I only saw them in the Max 8. However that’s something pretty minor in comparison to other art bugs (like the massive LOD issues on the 747-400s exteriors which on their own are already minor in comparison to other more significant issues like CTDs - so it’s basically part of the minors of the (non functional) minors).

What should MS/Asobo do about that? It’s a freeware aircraft which was released as an alpha version for MSFS 2020, so it’s not even build or converted to MSFS 2024 standards. Performance is not great because they did not do much right now to optimize and polish it and also use the legacy texture format (dds instead of ktx2), materials and folder structures. The 2024 SDK mentions many (working) ways to improve performance but that’s something you’d do way later in the development cycle and not while most things are still WIP.

Well, if you run a business you have to make priorities. If most people cannot load into a flight properly an Airbus for your career mode is likely not the highest of them all. Also, as said before, we are talking about the iniBuilds Airbusses and in that case ini at first has to make them fully compatible with career and test them internally. After that MS must test them and validate they are fit for career. On top, as there are currently no higher capacity aircraft (A330) for career changes/adjustments might also be needed on this end. That will cost some full time days of work.

It’s business in the end and it’s not about choosing what you “like” most. It’s choosing what of the current bugs has the most significant impact either technically or when it comes down to revenue, so we talk about something game breaking first (CTDs) or something that costs a fair amount of money (missing/empty market place).

Whenever some small insignificant stuff was fixed it was either a pretty easy one or something which was tackled all together with some other larger chunk of stuff. Or it simply was done by someone else (partners like iniBuilds, Gaya, Carenado, Bing, XBGS or whatever company that does something commissioned on the sim).

So in your theory opening yet another moan thread has more impact than bug reports or wishlist topics on the same forum with you being part of the 0.1% of the overall customers worldwide which are active here? Debatable pretty much, especially as votes over here (in comparison to the wishlist or bug reports) are pretty pointless as these are not monitored otherwise.

While I agree that the overall process of archiving open bugs over here is not pretty clear I don’t think the issues are closed after they were logged (status “feedback logged” and “bug logged”). If something ends up in that status it was transferred to some internal Jira story and is lurking in the backlogs, later assigned to a feature/epic and estimated. That’s how we (different projects, same frameworks to code and work in agile) do it.

First off you must have seen a different thing than I as usually Sebastian Vloch speaks more than Jörg Neumann on the developer streams. Secondly it’s the same deal - they have limited time to speak about something as it’s timeboxed, so priorities are made before going live based on estimating which topics can be addressed in a rather good way.

Questions I provided in the past were randomly answered, sometimes in a good way, sometimes it was misunderstood - happens. As mentioned the ini Airbus fleet is basically commissioned work and in first place handled by iniBuilds themself - MS does not have a direct insight into what they are currently working on or to what extend and so they only can ask them to either join the stream or provide a status (as they are not part of MS), so you won’t likely get a more precise answer than “we are working on getting the Airbus fleet into career mode” until it’s close to be done.

Over here, in a completely unrelated topic this will help nobody. In general some causes are known and also addressed in SU2 as far as I’m aware.

Nope. It was an answer to the question what is in my hangar for free flight and I elaborated a bit more.

This Thread has one purpose only and that is to bring back into focus that the Airbuses are missing in Career.

Look I waited half a year before creating this thread. I didn’t rush. But an Airbus in Career is as important to me as some bugs you like to have fixed for you.

And there is nothing wrong to mention related problmes and wishes here. It is a forum to talk about. Look. The cockpit freeze is KEY because if they add Airbuses with the cockpit freeze they make things worse because they are then absolutly useless.

No one will be happy to have his or her career flight ended without a landing and lose the time and game monopoly money. So you see that fully belongs to this thread and the wish to have Airbuses in Career.

It is not that they didn’t had time to solve this as mentioned the bug is in in FS2020
Sorry that I am informed about all those bugs and what is happening.

And yes before this thread I answered and voted in that one single wish thread some long time ago.

Don’t know why you want to render this thread unjustified. It is a fully valid thread.
But thanks for keeping it in the focus.

I might have to wash my glasses I don’t have but nothing I quoted was even related to that (so I did not complain about you answering). The only edge case here was the complaint about the bad performance of the A380 maybe.

Didn’t seem you notice but “this thread” already was gone - merged with one of the others
This was the reason for pointing out something already existed and there is basically no reason to open yet another topic on the same same most people around here already know.

The content is not unjustified, the thread itself was redundant. Opening yet another one is pretty much part of the code of conduct:

Code of Conduct - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums
Creating multiple threads on the same topic does not make it more likely that your post will be seen. It does make it more likely you will irritate and confuse your fellow forum users.

If a member is found to have participated in such actions, they will:

  • Receive a formal warning; or,
  • Post will be closed and deleted

As you were pretty aware that such threads already exist opening yet another one for just visibility is against the code of conduct. It’s an edge case only because you did not create the other topics, so it was decided to just merge it seems.

What does code of conduct have to do with this topic?
Fine your point taken I dissagree but whatever.
Please disscuss the topics and let the Forum moderators do their jobs. Thank you.

As a common person my interfacing with aircraft was as a passenger travelling from here to there. In general I don’t immediately think about cargo, Medevac, air rescue, ferry flights etc. So honestly the passenger missions needed to be better sorted out at release.

Airbus and Boeing are the main airliner aeroplanes. So not having Airbus is a big issue. Very significant.

Also all we get is a Boeing 737 Max which was probably grounded sometime back for some issues and the Heart Aerospace ES 30 which is still a prototype and runs on reverse gear in the simulator!!

Why couldn’t they enable the ATR aircraft? Also why can’t we have the other Boeing planes in the career mode btw which are there in the sim?

It would be really interesting to meet whoever was the project manager for the career mode.

All of those will be possible but only after all of the necessary updates and testing have been done to those aircraft. The ATR doesn’t even have a 2024 version yet, so it may be a while.

They’ve already very clearly discussed how unhappy they were with the state of the sim on release, so clearly we would have gotten more aircraft in career if they had the time to configure and test them properly.

Those things will come with time, it just requires patience. For those that don’t have patience, the best option would be to find a mode you enjoy that is relatively feature-complete (which at the moment seems to be anything outside of Career) or simply shelve 2024 and pretend it hasn’t released yet until it’s been updated to meet your expectations.

Yes I understand that but I should only have to pay either money or patience, not both. Asking full price and delivering half the thing is not right.

The other point I wanted to make was about priority. Prioritising what I think most people would relate to more than the other things. But of course that is subjective.

Currently I am doing the employee passenger missions with the Boeing 737 and sometimes the ES 30 so that there is less risk of loss if the game bugs out. After SU2 I will try out the freelancer passenger missions, let’s see.

Sorry- while I completely respect your opinion and you are 100% entitled to your opinion, I think it sets a pretty dangerous precedence for future games. It basically says that it’s ok to advertise all of these amazing features, planes, and game modes, but at release none of them are actually true or functioning remotely close to what they promised (i.e. products in 2020 working in 2024).

How long are people supposed to wait? We’re about to be headed into June of 2025 (game released in November 2024) and we’ve yet to hear any concrete details on when we can expect new planes in career mode, so how much longer should we wait? They can’t sell customers and promise all this great stuff and then not only release the game without those features, but then go radio silent with your customers about when they will be available. And, them saying that they’re “unhappy” really doesn’t mean anything to the customer.

I really don’t think it’s fair to tell people to shelve the game or career mode (or any mode for that matter), because everyone can use the game however they see fit and a major selling point to this game was this new career mode. If they are going to overpromise and underdeliver then ok, sometimes that happens, but you absolutely cannot go radio silent with your customers.

I’m simply approaching it from a perspective of something I have zero control over. I’m going to purchase the game regardless, so why complain about it after the fact? I can no longer vote with my wallet, which is all that matters to most company bottom lines. I’m simply accepting the things I cannot change.
