Why cant we move showcase camera angles around without TRACKIR?

Am I the only one that can only move the showcase camera angles around without TRACKIR? It would be nice to be able to use the mouse to look around like this older thread from 2020 suggests:

Is it possible to use the mouse to look around in the showcase camera? Like WASD to move around and the mouse for look-at? I’m aware of the game controller alternative, but what about the mouse, which is “pointing” the device most of us have plugged in already?
