I’d say if there isn’t much VFR traffic that’s fine and you gotta make frequent calls and state your intentions. I’ve had that situation before and I just extended my downwind and everything was fine. However, if it’s busy, I would personally not shoot an IFR approach into a non-towered field in VFR conditions.
