Don’t really know where you’ve been since 1.14.5.0, but in fact many many people had serious problems with that update and were very glad about the hotfix.
I’m sorry to hear that it had the opposite effect for you but most people (incl. myself) it seems to have solved many problems introduced with SU3 (aka 1.14.6.0).
