The tutorial says “do not apply reverse thrust until all wheels are on the ground”, but we have no audible indication when the front wheel is touching the ground.
I wouldn’t consider it immersion, but essential realism.
On the CRJ you are sitting basically on top of the nosegear.
The touchdown noise is far more noticeable than for the mainwheels.
Does the noise level increase when extending the gear?
Do to the above mentioned reason (and the open gear doors) the noise level in the cockpit inreases a lot on the real one.
Concerning reverse thrust; IRL you are using most of the time only idle reverse, but of course you unlock the thrust reversers immediately at touchdown.
It’s just the application of reverse thrust you need to have nosewheel contact.
The wind noise in cruise was indeed too loud in the first release version but it is much reduced now. All jet aircraft do have at least some wind noise at high speed.
The background noise level does go up somewhat with the gear extended. I agree there should be a noticeable “thump” when the nose gear retracts and latches.
