The custom views certainly work for me. As mentioned, check the key bindings in the controls tab.
Other points to note
- use the numbers above the keys, not those in the number pad.
- strange things happen when using the ctrl/shift/Alt keys in combination with other keys. If you have assigned other commands to the number keys, these may cause a conflict (Major Flaw in Keyboard Shortcuts).
