A commercial airliner with no way of keeping ice off the windshield. Are you sure?
I agree that ground deicing of the airframe should be implemented in MSFS, but that would not help if the cockpit windows are iced over. When a real aircraft is deiced, the fluid is never under any circumstances applied to the windows in the cockpit.
Windshield deicing needs to be accomplished by the windows themselves, which are electrically heated - at least on airliners. The problem with the 777 model you were using is that function might not be properly emulated.
sometimes a discreet “ctrl-D” works just fine…
