I am in the UK and cannot get it to work. I asked for a refund, they refused, saying I had too many refunds…I have not had any refunds!
Customer service is as broken as this impossible to use game.
That’s a great idea, doesn’t paypal have the same money back scheme as well?
And with paypal they return your money first, then they have to deal with Microsoft or whoever … or is that just for ebay?
I’m not sure, but whilst watching the traffic volumes that MSFS 2024 was using the last 2 days, I saw this hostname and it didn’t give me much faith in VM’s services ![]()
To my absolute amazement, I’ve been using MSFS 2024 with no VPN for about 45 mins now, in the UK, and it’s absolutely FINE… bit slow at times but everything is loading, no real issues at all.
I could even walkaround like a normal person, instead of with the camera through the ground. I could also get into a plane! I also had sound. I also had ATC. Besides a few small hiccups I made a short flight and it was GOOD.
The ATC says “QNH”, the ground bumps and springy landing gear looks great, the lighting and shadows are excellent, performance pretty decent too on my average PC. Day 3, and we are getting there slowly… ![]()
That’s enough frustration for today. I’m feeling angry and that’s not a healthy place to be over any ‘entertainment product’. A good night’s sleep and we’ll see what Day 4 brings…
Yes I also had a decent session now! Graphics still not great and similar to msfs2020, but progress
Even though I’ve finally had a few flights on Xbox the character creator still crashes the game.
Im in the UK using Xbox on a Gb service and still up to today have been unable to load the sim.
I rely regret buying FS2024 …
FS 2020 is still solid so it look like im going to have stay on FS2020 until Microsoft pulls its head out of it ■■■■ and at least explains why we in the UK are still unable to access the software we all paid for?
I guess they jnow where their main market is and will look after the USA first and foremost.
Mine loads fine but when running very buggy, certain aircraft won’t load, fuzzy ground textures and occasional hangs.
Yes but are lots of bugs and annoyances waiting for you once you can play
120GB is the base game with no world updates, hardly too big for most SSDs these days. With world updates which by the way you can download and choose the ones you want it gets to around 350GB. With more addons you might reach 500GB eventually (mine is 466GB). Are you telling me people dont have PCs with 500GB free storage? Cloud streaming has always been poor, it adds much more complication with regards to networking, server upload speed and server resources.
Improvement now runs without VPN but similar to others it’s glitchy airports not loading correctly, missing planes etc,
all my add ons are activated not helping as there are duplicates and bad add-ons which we can’t delete. Pretty shocking we can’t do that simple task. If all add ons are streaming as well globally this can’t be helping
All good now from Bristol area, no need for VPN. Fast load, good visuals in general. Performance in VR is less than in 2020 but not bad either. Running on 13900k / 4090 / 32Gb DDR5
I would guess it’s cause it’s almost 1 AM, though happy to be proven wrong tomorrow at 4pm ![]()
I am good for at least one hour +
Me being a pessimistic are we able to play now because 80% of UK have gone to bed ![]()
Started working properly for me a couple of hours ago on Virgin Media. Managed to do a few career mode missions and then a quick jaunt from Newcastle to Edinburgh in the 737 MAX. Got very stuttery once landed in EDI, but other than that it runs really nice. Im on Xbox Series X and it definitely feels smoother than 2020. Flight model has had a huge upgrade. Hope everyone gets in soon!
just checking best way to change server without a VPN - assume its in the multiplayer settings? (in 2020 there seemed to be an option in you profile I think?)
Yes indeed performance is great compared to 2020 I moved from Xbox to pc but great if Xbox users can now enjoy the sim. Black avionics was my biggest problem with xbox
That supposedly is for multiplayer only, not your nearest Azure region for scenery streaming
Yes, yes i am lol. Most folks aren’t buying new storage for a single title, and I’m not thinking of only hardcore simmers. You need more than that for a sim of this scale.
Without the world updates, there are huge degradations to the visuals imo, so those are essential at least for North america and europe where i fly.
Remember, other people play other games, and those tend to be around ~120gb and don’t require the game to be launched to update it. I had friends over last summer, they had a ball competeing with each other in the landing challenges. They all were enamoured by the sim. How many of those do you think actually downloaded it despite enjoying it? None. None of them, because the sim was too big and the download too clunky.
I got no issue with making it possible to download parts of 2024, particularly aircraft (which is bugged and presumably will come at some point). But when I was flying in 2020, I was already streaming the majority of the terrain because I tended to stick to PG areas. This isn’t really any different to me, only with a much lower storage requirement
