There does appear to be a weird problem here. I can’t access the sim, but my son on the same (but weaker) internet connection and a lesser spec can. Work that one out!

Yeah very strange. I couldn’t access for 3 days in south of UK . All good now fast loading in to every mode just the add-ons and inconsistent performance I have an issue with

Same, once I’m in I’ve been trundling around in GA enjoying the scenery and career which is all I planned to do initially until the 3rd party stuff caught up.
I just need to load it and go and do something else for 30mins whilst activates packages, which isn’t so much of a problem until I get a CTD, then that’s half the evening gone. Luckily it’s been more stable since the hotfix got me.
That and I switched from Steam to MS Store on a £1 game pass trial and loading times halved from 1hr for some reason (steam still 1hr)

Steam refusing refund even though all but 15 mins of my time has been in freezing menus
Asobo/MS posted this, basically confirming they knowingly released a broken product before launch and couldn’t be bothered to fix it. If you’re having difficulty getting a refund, simply show this to a trading standards agency.
They are proud of what exactly? Beating No Man’s Sky on the worst launch?

This is definitely not the case. XBOX is powerful enough to handle it. Once I managed to run a complete flight with perfect graphics. But in most cases whole game gets frozen already in menu or shortly immediately when starting a flight.
Out of curiosity, where did they post this?

I seem to be sorted now. Loads fast, and after dropping the settings to mid-range, it all loads in and works okay on free flights, too. Haven’t tried the other stuff.
I found this morning that my internet connection has been up and down in recent days - so this will have affected it, too. Switched to a new ISP and 1GB FTTP - that should sort it! 
I’ve noticed sometimes i when i get no intro music playing i also have no audio on planes. Anyone have this too?
Delete what you’ve downloaded so far empty any data saved and try to reinstall. It worked for me, plus the sim works much more smoothly with a definite increase in load times. Even managed a sightseeing trip around London yesterday which looked fantastic
Anybody know if you can switch off the ridiculous dust or whatever it’s supposed to be which follows every aircraft on the ground? It looks so cheap and game like. Also anyone managed to fly a helicopter? It doesn’t matter what I do I can’t control helicopters. In 2020 the Hotas an assigned set of helicopter controls, but strangely not in 2024?

If you first select a helicopter in free flight and then go to controls, the cyclic, collective and other helicopter-specific commands all become available for mapping.

I quite like the dust effect, providing its used on the correct terrain, it does need to be toned down a lot I think though, it looks excessive to me.
Having spent the last week trying to get fs24 anywhere near usable in free flight (blurry “melted graphics”, buggy aircraft) I spent a couple of hours back on fs20 and what a joy, better smoother graphics and everything as should be. No doubt fs24 will get better but right now it’s very poor for me. I713700k, rtx 4090, 32gb, full fibre.

That’s not the point, my point was there was a separate setup for helicopters in 2020 so why remove it in 2024. Seems like a backwards move to me.
In FS2024, there are commands that are specific to helicopters and you can create a mapping that relates to all aircraft, which by definition, would mean that they would be applied to all helicopters.
Couldn’t you use this if you want to create a “setup for helicopters”?
