If you first select a helicopter in free flight and then go to controls, the cyclic, collective and other helicopter-specific commands all become available for mapping.

I quite like the dust effect, providing its used on the correct terrain, it does need to be toned down a lot I think though, it looks excessive to me.
Having spent the last week trying to get fs24 anywhere near usable in free flight (blurry āmelted graphicsā, buggy aircraft) I spent a couple of hours back on fs20 and what a joy, better smoother graphics and everything as should be. No doubt fs24 will get better but right now itās very poor for me. I713700k, rtx 4090, 32gb, full fibre.

Thatās not the point, my point was there was a separate setup for helicopters in 2020 so why remove it in 2024. Seems like a backwards move to me.
In FS2024, there are commands that are specific to helicopters and you can create a mapping that relates to all aircraft, which by definition, would mean that they would be applied to all helicopters.
Couldnāt you use this if you want to create a āsetup for helicoptersā?
Exactly the same for me. To his credit Seedy has really tried to find a cause for me. All of the fixes depend on the premise that my fast internet and Ā£3000 rig (that has worked ok to date) is broken in some way. The elephant in the room is that it is the software that is broken!

my loading times has never changed from day 1 it takes at least 30 mins to get into game
just uninstalled and reinstalled and have same problem
i have fast internet so no problem there

but i removed them and reinstalled sim no addons at all

wait till screen says need internet
reconnect internet
2 mins and i was in amazing
dont know what the problem is but anyone with long loading times
strongly suggest try this

Only trouble is, I then canāt get into the sim as I canāt get past the ālicensed not verifiedā errorā¦ maybe an MS Store thing? Iāll install and try on my steam copyā¦
This worked for steam! 9 days on and my loading times are finally down to mere minutes rather than nearly an hour! Thanks!
Anyone still struggling in the UK?
My loading times are āOkā but I still have missing cockpit and scenery textures every single time I load in.
I can see fairly good detail on the ā10,000ftā view of the map when waiting after clicking Fly but I then see those textures lose all definition just before it zooms in to the aircraft on the apron.
Then once Iām in the cockpit itās just a bare 3D model which eventually fills in with textures - sometimes after completing taxi and take off!
I have never been able to get as far as fly now. The patch has changed nothing for me. I donāt want to be an expert in windows OS, I just want to go flying, is that too much to ask?

From just before the patch I started to get partial flights without a crash and had 2 20 mins flights today without a crash. Have changed nothing on my system which leads me to believe re installing Windows etc is a waste of time - it is/was them not us with the issues
The number of people playing FS2024 is constantly falling down so servers are less busy these days. Personally, I have not seen low bandwidth error for several days now and I am on 50Mbit broadband. The game still likes to CTD randomly, but I doubt itās related to server issues. This game seems to be still in Alpha or EA stage.
