Why is remove "press any key to start" important?

As has been said many times in the forum:

Asobo have already got the fix - they use it for their developers, who (for some strange reason) take exception to having to press a key in the middle of loading.

Giving this fix to us users will not slow down the “many more things” you worry about.

Done and dusted - just waiting for update 5, and then we can say goodbye to the complainers complaining about the PAK complainers.

Which really goes to show that the developers think its a pointless waste of time. I get the “lets show some pretty scenery shots” when starting the sim" but what they could have done is have those shots within a welcome screen with a tick box option that allows users to skips past it on future loads. Many software developers use this technique.

It has been mentioned before but don’t forget that there could be commercial reason for having this key press in the load routine. It comes immediately after the logo screens, which means you’re more likely to notice them on every load if you have to press a key straight afterwards.

What might be trivial to do technically might not be so trivial commercially.

The problem for Asobo is that the press any key is part of a legal requirement (google it, not kiding)and the reason it is not removed is because the legal department of Microsoft (most likely the most powerful legal department in any company in the world) are not satisfied that it can be removed without problem.
This is pertaining to the xbox launch where such a feature is a requirement. If it goes from the PC version you can imagine the xbox crowd wanting it gone too. Just my 2 cents worth…

Again though, the pretty scenery shots they show in the opening video look nuthin like what we see in game. It’s just rubbing salt in the wound that rain is invisible now.

And yet, it’s scheduled for removal in Patch 5.

Which would mean that if there were commercial concerns then they have been dealt with. Obviously.

Yes, obviously. And the legal requirement as well, obviously.

Yet neither of these were mentioned in the devs Q&A, nor in the reason for not including it in Patch 4 (as promised).

But, like it or not, it will be in Patch 5. Done and dusted.

As William once wrote so may years ago, “Much ado about nothing.

for me i do not feel it is a high priority fix but the fact thy said it was removed knowing it was not removed and did not let people know it was not removed after saying thy would be more open about what is happening is the problem how can we trust them after this when thy say thy are working on fixing something when thy messed up this little unimportant fix

all it would have taken is a little note in the patch notes saying sorry but this was not fixed yet

or just not saying something is fixed and will be in a patch until you know for certain it will be in that patch

also for all those saying its not a problem i would agree if all the loading was before the press any key and not in-between loading and that once you pressed a key you went straight to the main menu but the fact that you wait threw the logos then you hit the press any key screen then after pressing a key you are greeted with the update screen then a loading screen before the main menu when you could have the downloads be the first screen you hit before the logos then have the logos play as the game loads before hitting the press any key screen and after pressing a key it took you straight to the main menu with no more loading till you start a flight or activity

I did, and got nothing of value. Some articles talking about reasons why “press any key” is a thing, but no articles stating that it was a legal requirement, and certainly no laws or court precedents I can look up.

Because they have not released the patch yet. It is coming out in Update 5.

I think it is because that group of people that don’t allow negative comment on this sim were reduced to the most lame feedback they could vote on whilst they are fapping around with patch on patch we still don’t have any news other than through the back channels how they are developing rotary and glider wing physics. Cue the " please be patient" chorus 4 3 2 1…

I wouldn’t go that far.

I say negative things about this sim all the time, but my posts stay up, because I know how to read, comprehend, and post within the rules of the forum.

If you cannot tell the difference between, “This sim is bad and Asobo should feel bad for selling it!” and, “The SDK needs some serious work before 3rd party airplanes have any chance of being study level.” perhaps you have bigger issues than this community, you know?

It’s a shame I can only “like” this post once.

It’s normal that it received negative comment, Sebaastian said it was a very easy fix, then they put en the DU that it will get fixed in Update 4, and update 4 arrives and it’s not inside.

So if they are unable to deliver a very easy fix, should then we trust them with complex ones ?

Then, they addressed the thing saying it was just a mistake in the DU, that’s the way of dealing with negativity, not saying “is this that important” ?

Many people started trolling in the forum that for them it’s gone … that’s the problem here, trolls, not genuine & justified complains.

Wow I bet you wish you could upvote your own opinions ?

I take your point, but this is where I have to keep giving myself a reality check. We’re talking about a $60 (or whatever you paid for whatever version) game (I’m well past caring about the game / sim labels) and people are talking about trust as if they are choosing the doctor that is about to perform heart surgery on their mother.

The sim world is in a sad state of affairs when a new release that is going through growing pains is still far more impressive to many of us than those that have been about for decades.

Really? Coming pretty close to trolling.

I am beginning to see why your posts get taken down.
