Why is the A320 still broken?

I am getting frustrated. It feels like it has been forever since I have been able to fly in this simulator. Ever since the last patch the A320 is completely unusable. Start cold and dark at the gate, it is impossible to turn the plane on anymore. The switches on the overhead console no longer work, you can’t get your primary flight displays booted up, and in the off chance you finally get the APU on, the phantom copilot decides to shut everything down. WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE FIXED?!

I have submitted bug reports to the Zendesk but they all get closed immediately telling me they already know about the issue. The A320 is completely unflyable, this should be an overnight fix. What is taking so long?!

I’m trying to give them some credit… I mean the thing actually boots up and loads properly. Now if only I could get a plane off the ground…

Why give them credit when they haven’t done anything to earn it?

According to the last dev update, a fix is coming in two days.

In any case, check out the flybywire mod, it’s heaps better than the stock A320, and it’s working fine right now: https://flybywiresim.com/a32nx

Have they figured out how to make the autopilot fly level yet or does it still rock its wings like the stock version does? That’s the key thing that’s kept me from flying the a320 at this point.

OK, Austin.

Some ‘Learned Scholars’ on this forum might suggest the reason is that you don’t know how to use your PC properly and that MSFS is completely free of any bugs!

I’m cautious about using add ons to what Asobo are building that potentially won’t function with the updates they apply as they work towards a stable product. I’d rather wait until they have a stable product and consider add ons for deficiencies later.

You’re a smart man.

Lol. Yeah, it is Figment14’s fault that the A320 doesn’t work - definitely not Asobo’s.

Nothing to worry about. The A32NX is being used by thousands and the only concern we have is how much more flybywire can improve the mod. I invite you to join the Discord server for more information.

Hey buddy, Austin knows math and how to code to make physics happen in his simulator, and it works, he’s got more brains and brawn than Asobo at this point in time..

Shame he cant do the maths then to inpliment Volumatric clouds and snow weather then isnt it.

He makes aircraft work, he has weather, the quality of clouds is not his thing. And there are weather addons that work great, I have them..

Try it out.

Hehehe

Come on now, no we all know not one simulator is perfect, yet Austin communicates to his customers with a lot of heart and energy, watch his videos..

We also know, something is going on at Asobo or Microsoft or the bridge between them and communicating the truth to us regarding well everything going on with msfs2020..

erm the default stock aircraft with XP11 are no where near as complete as the stock MSFS aicraft sorry.
I have tried it out i have over 1600 hours in XP11 in steam

correct that over 1800 hours lol image

Wow that is a lot of flying time!

Congrats on your hours…

scary to think how quick is soon adds up lol

a joke? The single virtue of having complete GPS implementations easily makes XP11 more complete than MSFS. Once Asobo finishes the avionics then this argument can actually be made.

As people have said above, use the FlyByWire A32NX mod. It is absolutely free and fixes so many issues, including the number 1 engine bug. You can grab it off of https://flybywiresim.com. Then, select the stable download for the newest v0.3 release. Next, you simply drag the A32NX folder into your community folder where liveries are installed. Note that this will not add a new A320, you will just select the default A320 and the added features and fixes will be there.

The nice thing about this is, when the update is released, BEFORE you open flight simulator, just move the A32NX folder out of the flight sim directory to anywhere else in windows explorer. Open the sim up and let it update, and you won’t have to worry about the mod conflicting with anything. I’m sure when the new patch is released on the 29th, FlyByWire will have to create a new stable download that will be compliant with the changes Asobo makes.

If you do not want to add the mod, simply turn on the APU, let it start up like normal and then just don’t turn it off. That is a workaround for that failure that will let you still enjoy the plane in the meantime. Just add a little more fuel than usual to compensate for the APU being on. Hopefully, the A320 will be fixed in the next Japan Update Patch.
