Why is there no Backup plan for server failures?

Just speaking for myself here but the last thing I want to do is to go back to an XP 11 kind of scenario where we need to shell out nearly £100 (I think that’s roughly how much I paid anyway) to have offline textures from ORBX for GB North, Central and South just on the off chance of there being a Microsoft Server Issue.

Apart from anything else what happens if I want to sim somewhere other than GB. The costs of having decent scenery world wide from ORBX or a dev similar is not really feasible or affordable imo.

Well, Orbx did have a Global texture product that wasn’t terribly expensive iirc. thats what I was thinking and not the photoreal stuff. Im talking about the old landclass lookup textures.

Okay. I can’t recall anything like that tbh :slightly_smiling_face:

Just out of general interest was that for XP 11 (my one time main sim) or another sim?

Anyway, if it was fairly reasonable and world wide then, yes, that does change things a bit and makes your point much more understandable :slightly_smiling_face:

Thinking about it more, running FS20 ‘kind of offline’ with half decent textures is actually quite interesting and might open up a few more opportunities than we have now.

actually it was P3D. I hope its OK to mention that sim here.

It was “Orbx Global BASE Pack”

Mmm … not heard of the addon tbh (I never bought P3D) but if it wasn’t too expensive and it also enabled us to run the sim offline then yes, maybe, maybe … :slightly_smiling_face:
