Just remember to keep up those Zendesk reports so they know what to fix and in what priority order. Hopefully they will catch up with bug fixing and it will continue to improve. Cheers.
I give up why? I have been playing all day and night -7 Zulu. 8 hours . What a stunning and amazing sim!! In my 747 787 Graphics maxed out . One flight plan was PADK PANC Loved the live weather loved the 747 Butter smooth TO Cruize and Approach and landing, Loved the Scenery. Amazing fun!! I don’t shed a tear to those who think the sim is broken.
I’m not sure why some people consistently have issues. I can’t even remember the last time I had a CTD or any major issues with MSFS. I’ve done most all the updates day they are released but don’t experience the issues some people seem to always have.
I think it was a good thing, in hindsight, that Microsoft got out, and returned when technology was more mature.
We have to keep in mind that MSFS was not even planned for release. Originally, Asobo was only commissioned to create a hollow lens tourism demo for Microsoft using the latest satellite maps and such—not a flight simulator. It was shown to Phil Spencer and he was blown away and thought it was a real flight—and MSFS was born.
I hope for the best in this ambitious endeavor.
The feeling I get after 8 months of buying this game is that its starting to feel like it is primarily an Earth simulation with a flight game stuck onto it.
A kind of Bing Earth which you can explore with a drone or you can use a selection of airplanes. It does not feel like primarily a flight game (to me, I know these things are subjective).
Having said that - I have never had any in-game problems. Absolutely none, it has worked very well - even with 120 mods. The one big issue I faced was an update freeze at 63%. I had to uninstall the game and redownload the whole thing and and now its working well again.
As others have said unlike consoles theres a gazillion different PC configs around the world which makes it natural that people will face issues.
This is a bad thing?
I think this nails it. Not only does MS / Asobo have to account for the aforementioned gazillion hardware / software configs, but then as was mentioned earlier there are times when well, the user is the one that creates the problem. I would venture a guess that they’re not doing it maliciously, but they lack the knowledge to troubleshoot the issue.
People LOVE to go online and complain up a storm these days. For every 10 people that complain, I bet you’ll find maybe one or two people that are posting to say that things are good. This means that when you look up any subject related to the sim or addons, you’re going to find people complaining. Endlessly. The signal to noise ratio is so out of whack, it’s hard to find objective feedback - people just want to “put them on blast.”
No, not at all. If it’s so bad, why has it taken over the Flight Simulator market? I think it’s a great product and I love it and use it much more than the other three Flight Simulators I have.
Ah ok. I apologize, I misunderstood ![]()
I think it’s a GREAT thing. As the game gets tidied up and the awesome 3rd party developers keep churning out more content, it’s only going to get better. I got a long time buddy from High School (30+ years ago) roped in. ![]()
I think it’s awesome that it’s an international thing as well.

Dealing with addons will just add a whole new layer of issues involving SU/WU compatibilizers if you don’t have the basic understandings of Vanilla MSFS.
These flight sims have always been the thorn in one’s side when it comes to throwing new hardware at underlying issues since FSX. Complex flight sims are moody pieces of software PERIOD always have been! You start throwing VR, Various Control Surface Hardware, payware/freeware addon setups to them and you gotta be prepared for little quirks and mood swings here and there.
For example I’ve had 3 PC systems with FSX and the sim reacted to all 3 configurations differently when it came to performance ,quirks, CTDs ,addons, hardware etc etc.
MSFS may run in a different mood on one persons 3090/XYZK/#RAM combo than another.
A person with less hardware firepower just may get better performance and no crashes with their setup and that user upgrading and buying the latest and greatest hardware component may just ruin their stable/smooth performance. It’s always been that way in flight simming particularly Microsoft’s titles in my experience!
Zero issues since release.
Well wait… the weather radar is not working and there was this extreme cloud visual quality downgrade a year ago or so.
But no issues with crashes or freezes or anything.
And I don´t have “hardware firepower” anymore since selling the graphics card - a Vega 11 APU is rendering the flight sim
and still no issues at all.
I think your response @TheSevenflyer is spot-on.
I just popped by WoW (World of Warcraft) forums and lo’ and behold, the tone is pretty much the same as here. People will always find things to complain about and voice their personal unhappiness readily. It’s just in the human nature and how these public forums work. Only in exceptional cases, or to make a counter point to all the complaining, positive threads are opened. But even in those exceptional cases, when a game by accident manages to bring out an update that pleases the vast majority, there will be people, who chime in their unhappiness.

Seen it. Nice but a little langweilig (dull). It is less than half the price of MSFS too… maybe there are fewer people who trust they can handle a “flight simulator” … activities like ploughing and harvesting is straightforward. Did you ever consider Goat simulator… population can be 20x these amounts with popular free games.
Xplane can’t touch fs for visuals. Especially in vr. Give it time and fs will be the go to simulator.
I think almost every place where product feedback is given is like this. Most people will not be motivated to leave feedback if their experience is average or mediocre. The ones who leave the feedback are the ones who are either extremely satisfied or extremely unsatisfied with one or more aspects of the product. That’s why on almost every Amazon product page the two most numerous star ratings are usually 5 stars and 1 star.
I think you’ll find that with almost every major update or addon release there are two competing threads and overarching sentiments, if you’ll excuse the hyperbole: “The developers have ruined everything, this sucks,” and “I am immensely satisfied with the product as is, great work.” Take a look at the Twin Otter threads that have been popping up recently and you’ll see what I mean. Not that you don’t already know what I mean… I’m sure you’ve made similar observations yourself.
I agree with you to a degree but sometimes visuals isn’t everything.
A proper high fidelity functional sim would be more appearling
Not to mention that X-plane 12 will be out here in a few months. When that releases please do review the two side by side and come back and tell us.
To compare the two right now is like comparing a model a ford with a ford escort…big difference.
it already is the goto sim! MSFS
Kinda like a Aviationphile sim. Like Audiophiles. Never be 100% proper. 98.9% proper
