I was looking to buy the INI A340 but for some reason the price is $73 USD. The INI A350 also costs over $100 USD in Brazil, what’s going on with these prices? In Brazil the companies don’t have to pay for the 20% tax that exists in some european countries so this extra money is going into MS pockets?

That’s not the issue, if they don’t use regional prices, then the prices should stay the same as the US prices, not 20% more expensive.

What i found was that they removed the regional pricing in october/november of 2024. But this is another issue, MS is charging 20% more for every single item on the marketplace. The PMDG 777 is costing over $90 USD on Brazil.
The marketplace price already includes IOF (Brazilian financial operations tax) and other fees charged during currency conversion. It’s not a direct exchange rate, and I believe they also add a little extra to cover potential losses (but the price doesn’t drop when the dollar depreciates). That’s why it’s not worth buying expensive items on the marketplace in Brazil—you end up paying about 20% more, which often doesn’t reflect the current exchange rate. Sometimes, it’s better to buy directly from the add-on store, bearing the currency conversion taxes and bank fees, such as the spread.
Yeah, but the IOF is only 3.5% plus 6% from the bank spread is still way less than the 20% currently in place. Sadly some planes are now exclusive on the marketplace so i guess i’ll just spend my money on another addon, i refuse to buy anything from MSFS marketplace.
I recommend avoiding expensive add-ons there if you have the option to buy directly from your preferred add-on’s store or the one you’ve decided to purchase. Microsoft should also allow purchases directly in U.S. dollars so that consumers can handle the exchange fees themselves, which would be much lower than the exorbitant rate they apply in the Brazilian marketplace.
Just keep in mind, we have no control over that. We can only set one price when inserting the product and get a percentage on that. What you pay does not influence that.

Is it just possible it is a mistake they are unaware of? Have you asked the question in a Dev session? There is a Dev session feedback blog from todays in which you could possibly propose your question and it may get looked at?
