Why two fields?

Can anybody explain why we have two fields for mapping of a control?

For 2 different buttons on the same controller, because why not. Microsoft is not a rational corporation by the way, never was.

An example:
with my VKB joystick I can activate a shift mode that virtually double my numbers of buttons by giving them another number.
If I’m in this mode when I land but I want my brakes stills function with the same button, I’ll bind button 1 and button 61 (wich is 1 in shift mode) to brakes.

For convenience i guess. This is not the only game which does it. Pretty nice feature.

Hi all,

Thanks - I think I get the picture

Its a very nice feature, you can assign multiple inputs for the same action. This is still a pain with xplane and asobo got it right

Simple example, you want to have Left Shift + X and Right Shift + X both do the same action.

what about Shift + X

Thanks - I assume that this is related to an Xbox controller. I don’t use that in my PC setup.
