Wideview Experiences?

I just had my Sim working with WidevieW. Works well.

Struggled a bit with the set up. I have 2 PCs.

The Server is a new HP Vincta with Ryzen 9, 16 gig ram, 2 ssds and a GTX 1660 Super. A main monitor with the 2 RealSimGear G1000 suite monitors.

The client is an old HP Prodesk with an I7 cpu, 16gig ram, ssd and a new GTX 1650 Ti. Three 32" 1920x1080 TVs with the desktop streached across all three.

The PCs were setup with ethernet thru a switch with internet input from a router.

I shared the flight I started on the server with the client by copying the saved flight to the client. Did not work.

These are the items I changed.

  1. Moved the internet off the switch. Used the WiFi on each PC to access the internet. The Windows 11 network separated the two. Changed the network properties on the ethernet (WidevieW) connecton to assign DHCP manually. Independent IP, submask, default gateway and DNS servers. The connection is now off the router and is independent.

I ordered 2 ethernet cards and a crossover cable to isolate the WidevieW network. I can then use the switch to connect the router to both for the internet. Better bandwidth than WiFi.

  1. Started the flight on the client without loading the flight defined on the server. Switched to starting the same aircraft at the same airport at the same gate.

Did not work with the load flight but did work with starting the flight as a new flight.

Works now with all options in the config as recommended in the users guide. Much more simple than originally attempted by using the guide literally.

Works great on the client with 3 stretched monitors.

50-60 FPS on both PCs.
