Quality and frame rate is always a compromise. With any game.
Currently they experiment with settings to tune things. We experience that as downgrade, because we are used to the previous settings. I’m actually hoping they will introduce a “Still mode” with super quality, or leave Ultra tuned to 32GB/3080 standards. Save our screenshots ! When they downgrade everything to tune for 30 frames on 4K XBox-X (which has mid-range AMD 5xxx, 16GB Ram) it will be bad imho.
Rendering quality will really suffer when they look to optimize the FpS only. After the Nordic update we have seen what happens if you clip things to Medium settings and LOD-50… you get warping landscapes and coast lines… and very bad tree distance. We’ll have to fight here imho, to keep quality in.
