Win11 24H2 + MSFS2020 - Sound and Graphic stutters

First try to downgrade you Nvidia drivers to 561.09 and then clean the DirectX cache. It worked for me, the new driver is messy. 4070 Ti Super presented the stutter too.

Well my wife sended me some pics regarding the serial no etc if my pc and in fact there seem to be some new drivers also regarding the sound chip (but only win10 architecture but still might be newer than the ones I got this as they seem to be from this year).
When Iā€™m home im gonna try them and will report back.

Ill have a look at it too when home again. Thanks for this input. Although at all other games i donā€™t have a problem with the new nvidia driver at all but there arenā€™t also the sound problems.

So I really guess its more a sound issue than a graphics one.
As I said the graphics run more or less the same as before. There are only microstutters when the sound gets disrupted (about every 10-15 sec in flight) together with a high processor load (up to 100%)

This driver update was one of the first I had problems with. I did upgrade to win11 24H2 like you did and then installed the new driver. Battlefield would not run no matter what, then FS2020 started to present some stutters and Framegen also suffered severe blur. Without framegen the stutters were still present and no apparent drop in FPS. It was like playing a 30fps screen capture, but the fps were the same as always.
If you do not want to downgrade de nvidia driver try cleaning the DirectX cache. There is a tool to do that specifically for FS2020.
Abou the sound, I found in the past that you must have the correct one if it is a Realtek device. This is the only case were I download the drivers from the manufacturer only. Try installing the latest for windows 10 anyway, maybe it works.
Try the new cumulative update for 24h2 from today.

Thanks for you comment/advice.

As said i already found some new drivers from the computer developers site which are for win10 and dating this year (at least better the win7/8 i used this far) and downgrading the nvidia again sould be no problem either. Happend already many times using MSFS i had to do this.

But as said maybe Iā€™ll manage to do this today else tomorrow (depends on how long i still need to be working away from home)

Iā€™ve seen the tool about the cache cleaning on flightsim.to and might give it a try too.

Ok guysā€¦I really thank your for your ideas and input but it seems I canā€™t fix my problem with updating or downgrading drivers.

I got new sound-, chiptset- etc drivers now. And also tried downgrading nvidia drivers till 551.23 but nothing really worksā€¦so im at the end with my latin.
And I wont bend my systen further till it breaks.

Hope one of the next win11 updates fixes the problem. Else im gonna have to live with that sound and microstutters. As said although its enoying its still playble.

Maybe its just a slight higer processor load in games in win11 24h2 which now pushes my sytem to its edges.
When having stutter processor load ist up to 100% and this hasnt been before.

So as saidā€¦thanks for all your inputs

But maybe you guy can give me one more hintā€¦what are the original dlss and framgeneration dll. driver versions. i know dlss is 2.4.12.0 but what was the dlssg.dll?

nvngx_dlssg.dll - 3.5.10.0

For testing purpose disable nvidia hd audio

Thanks for the hint.
I deactivated it (as i dont use it at all as far as i know). But in fact that didnt help much either

But i think i might have found a sollution - but still need further investigation / testing.

I set the off-screen terrain pre-chaching from former mid/high setting to ultra and the microstutters and also sound problems seem to disappear.
Loaded two times into the sim now without problems. Guess tomorrow or latest sunday iā€™ll try a full flight. pressing thumbs

OK ā€¦have done two test flights now.

Is much better on the ground nowā€¦but when it comes to flyingā€¦so wheels leaving the runwayā€¦the stuttars start again and last till i landed again.

I think I have done now everything what i can do.
So I need to wait to fix this issue by MS with another Win11 24h2 update.
Or reinstall to Win10 or Win11 23h2 againā€¦or just buy a new PC that follows the requirements for Win11. Guess i need a new one nevertheless when it comes to MSFS2024.

I thank you all for your affords as Im not willing to test anything furtherā€¦and hope you wont face these problems.

Hi !
Did you attempt to repair MSFS ? (in windows paramter application)

In fact I havenā€™t tried this yet. Maybe its worth a try.
I just feared a bit to loose all my settings when repairing the installation.

Although I have to say that the new 2024 Sim runs quite smooth this far when I was able to get into it and start a fly.

I also have more stutters on my system since i installed Win24H2, gonna try out your suggestion with the Off Screen Terrain Pre-Caching set to ULTRA (now on HIGH), Thanks Markus

Had the same problem with this latest windows update, stutters and sound buzz. Created a 10gb rolling cache and now flys like it used to. Cheers guys fir the advice ā€¦good flying guys

I solved the issue by adding the instruction NumberofPumps=0 to FSUIPC.ini Try Cheers
